The American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) is a federal aid package that provides funding to families, governments, businesses, schools, nonprofits and others impacted by the pandemic. ARPA funding builds a bridge toward economic improvement and provides vital support to communities in crisis.
The City of Columbia will receive a total of $25.2 million of ARPA funds in two tranches to address health and economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. City Council has earmarked half of this funding to be used for homelessness, community violence, behavioral crisis care mental health services, and workforce development. We are committed to conducting a community driven and data-informed process, and request your input on how the remaining $12.6 million in ARPA funding be prioritized.
We have an opportunity with ARPA funds to reach those in our community that were most impacted by COVID-19. We are asking you to fill out a short survey to make our community the best place for everyone to live, work, learn and play!
