Greetings,

The dates for the Smart Growth Parking Audit workshop have been set and a calendar invite for both the September 22 Community Forum and the September 23 Workshop has been sent to all of you.

City staff plans to perform the actual downtown parking audit, in collaboration with Smart Growth America (SGA), this spring.

In turn, the September 22 Community Forum will serve as an opportunity to converse with the community through a 45 minute power point presentation and a subsequent Q&A session. This meeting will offer a chance to discuss smart growth vocabulary and concepts to Columbia residents, while also receiving substantive feedback from the community.

The 2nd day invite-only stakeholder workshop will include morning SGA presentations on related economic and fiscal issues, as well as presentations by Columbia representatives on what the community is trying to achieve and the issues we are currently facing. Workshop attendees will then break into small groups after lunch to come up with 3-5 community goals. By 2-3 PM, the plan is to come out of conversation in small groups to draft next steps.

Stay tuned for more updates.

We look forward to working with all of you.

Best Regards,

Leah
