Rotate the preview image in fullscreen

Hi,

I've a screen that rotate to visualize an image in a portrait format... It could be fine to use it with NCC except that it rotates in the opposite compare to the image done with my D700 with its grip. Can you solve this ? There is an option to flip it ?

Hi,

There is a problem. I have uninstalled the older version, install the new one. It launch and then it's bugging. The cursor is in the busy form and after a few minutes, there is a window that's say the program doesn't answer.

Can you help me ?

Hi Duka Istvan,

The problem is that I can't do anything. When the software is launched, the computer looks busy and I can't click on anything.

I try it on my another computer and, it works. Unfortunately, either if I didn't try with my screen that can rotate, it seems that it's not the correct rotation I'd like, i'll try to take a shoot and upload it to show you the problem (maybe you didn't understant it with my poor english explication)...

On the computer where your program crash, I have Windows 7 sp1. The new version of NCC. Can you say me where I can find the log file by default, because I can't go on the settings windows.

Ok, I found the log file, it's attached. Apparently sometimes the software is long to give the hand but it works. And effectively, I try with my screen and it'd need one more rotate to fill all the screen in portrait mode. You can see what happens on the file DSC_00128 - Copie.JPG. Hope you'll find the problem. It's surprising that it can work or it can crash ?

Hi, if i understand right, you need a option to rotate every image in a direction, i add a option for this in setting window, but i think should add two button to rotate images in preview window..

Ok, let's talk about my test.

First, it's still a bit long to have the software ready on my laptop pc. It's working... The rotation option in the settings windows is working and the 90rotatexy is the things I was needed to previsualize my portrait photo.

About liveview testing with the D700, the lifeview windows is working perfectly. The image is shown. I tried autofocus, it's ok. I tried manual focus and a window open with an error occured message (say yes i want to continue and it was going back on liveview window.). But when i press the capture button, i'm afraid that it doesnt work. Do nothing, but when you try to click on something, a message next to the tittle of the window (liveview (dont reply) ) appeared. Hope that this will help you. If you want more test, please ask... I have the D700 until the 15th september after I'll have a D3X :)

I'm back. Sorry for my long silence...

Autofocus is working.  Capture is working. Manual focus doesn't work on liveview. I saw an "invalid status" on the main window. I redo manual focus, it's finally working. Maybe there's something to do before doing it ?

Grid option and lv zoom is working fine. For the focus staking, I try with different number of views and focus step and it seems to crash with a window saying "unable to start livevoew".

Finally the luminosity option is ok.

Back again after doing some test !

Thanks for the new version. The start is better on my laptop ! Good news.

I've tried lots of thing (capture, bracketing, timelapse [I gave you already my feelback on it]...)

All is ok here.

In liveview mode, I'd prefer to have a notice that "start record a movie" will work only with camera that does it :) (I'm cheering but I know some persons will test it and say it's not working)

When doing liveview "focus "staking" sometimes it plants the liveview windows and a window with "unable to start liveview" appeared again. Maybe it can be an issue to the number or pictures we set ?

Last button, it makes me perplex... What's the "B" button stand for ? Something to browse the photos but i can't figure out how to do it. I try to click on the chekbox, I double click on them or try a drag and drop in the default window... Nothing ? Can you explain the means of the "B"rwose options is for ? Thanks !

On the left of the main window, we have some options and unfortunaltely some are gray tint. How to change the mode in front of the computer ? When changing the exposure time to bulb, it display "1s", error ?

A feature for a new version, may you add an highlight visual to say the white is burn ?

Presets are good to automatically refind some options configured for a typical shoot... Like portrait, landscape, concert,... It's just brilliant !

Hello,

I've a lot of pleasure testing the multiple camera support :)

There was a little problem when I tried to used my two cameras. My second one doesnt want to shoot. So I disconnected the first one, try the second alone and reconnect the first one. It was ok after doing that.

The two camera doesnt shoot at the same time, normal ? Sometimes it seems the second body doesnt upload the picture but it seems to work after retrying it.

Another thing, I think you made a mistake for "delay" option. You wrote that it was in msec and I try and I think 50 msec will be quick but it wasn't... I finally got the shoot after about 50 SECONDS :)

Another thing, how many cameras can this multiple cameras support can fire ??

that was a  accurate bug report, i add the reports to google code issue list :  http://code.google.com/p/nikon-camera-control/issues/list i will try to fix it soon as possible and i will send you again to test it again :)

Using the "B"rowse button you can browse the used sessions i plan to add option for sorting photos and somehow managing the photos like edit tags maybe a simple photo manager.

Theoretically isn't any limitation for number of cameras controlled in same time maybe the usb protocol limit this.

Hi Duka,

Ok, now, the software is working. I try this new version with three cameras (D700, D200 and D50). Your multiple camera support is working with the three.

Sometimes, I have some misfire, I assume it's about focus not working so maybe it's not a software problem. After some retries, this problem wasn't there (when I carefully aim at something that the camera can focus, not too near, lot of contrast...) So I think it's ok.

You say that the cameras should shoot at the same time, ... Mmm, not at all, they focus one by one and shoot, sometimes really in a short time, sometimes maybe some 50 msecs...

I tried too the number of shots, it's ok (except some misfire due to problem of focus). I tried the delay and it's seem to be ok for msec. Wait time in second is ok too.

For the "disable autofocus", D700 and D50 are still trying to focus. The D200 put in the "camera multiple support' window a message "Device MTP error code 2006" (see the screenshot attached).

I think I test all the things I could. Don't hesitate to ask if you want me to test other thing. I'll be out for this week end and change the D700 for a D3X but I'll be back soon to read you !

Hi, thx for testing, i don't find any way to disable the focus before capture for  D700, but still searching :) The D50 wasn't supported, i add it to list ...

If you disable the focus on cameras the they should be capture almost same time (maybe are some delay due to hardware speed) and before next capture the software should wait for all camera to be ready (transfer of files to be done)

I shot one picture and it was ok but after the software puts the error windows that I put on the screenshot

Hi, how i see the software use a lot of memory if you use raw and make consecutive captures.

I'm back... I did a test with more camera, here is the report :

D3S :

Capture is ok

RAW is ok

Bracketing ok

Liveview ok :

-Autofocus ok

-focus stacking is ok (one question, why doesn't it work when you put one shot with the focus stacking ??)

D800 :

Capture ok

I try the bulb setting with more than 30s (i saw that in the camera support list) and there is a problem to load the file. The sofware seems to be freeze so i close it and reopen it and the file was there.

Bracketing ok

Timelapse ok

Liveview ok

-AF ok

-manual focus ok

-capture ok

-focus staking ok

Finally, I can't make a very long test because I stole the compute of my father. I try the multiple camera support with the D3S, D800, D3X and D80...

The first shot was taken by all the cameras.

Try to do a new capture and the sofware freeze. So I restart NCC and I have a message "General error. No Focus ?" in the multiple camera support windows.

I saw that the load of the CPU was near 100% busy ! (As you said before maybe I need to try without Raw ?)

You'll find screenshots and the log with this posts. Oh I forget, the liveview option is not available with the D3X ? See the capture.

Unfortunatelly, I don't have all this cameras to do more test or retest after you upload new versions. I'll continue to do tests with my cameras : D3X, D200 and D50.

Hi Duka,

I make a new test on the netbook. I do like you said, I install the codec from windows. It's not working. I try to take a picture in JPEG first and the camera take it. There was the thumbnail in the bottom but the big one is center doesn"t want to show. There was a "loading..." message with a picture of the camera then the warning popup window show his head about the memory. I didn't take a screenshot but I think I always put it before.

I'm waiting for news from you before doing another test.

Hi, you can check using task manager how much memory use the application an how much is available ?

You may check if you install the image codec provided by the nikon  http://www.nikonimglib.com/nefcodec/ the raw displaying working ?

Hi Duka,

I do a new test. I install the codec from nikon but this doesn't seem to resolve the problem. Apparently, this is not a problem of memory but a processor excess load as you can see on the screenshot. I'm able to start the sofware if I don't have any images in the folder (default). When I take a picture or I start the program with one picture or more in the folder, it freezes trying to show the big picture (smalls ones are shown). Hope that this will help.

Hi, again, searching on google i found in most case this error nothing to do with memory usage in most case the problem is solved by re installing video card driver, i think worth a try ...

Hi Duka,

Today, I did a photoshoot using NCC version 0.7.268 with a laptop pc not the netbook. I was very happy to use it and the preview image in a portrait screen is simply excellent.

No bug during the shoot. The only thing is that I set the "space" key to trigger and sometimes as I said on g+ it doesnt take the picture. I think there is a problem when I click on some thumbnail to look after the trigger wasnt possible. I resolve it in restarting the software.

Hi Duka,

I can't do a great test today, I'll try to do it wednesday. I, on the netbook, install new version of my graphic card( Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator 500). Install the new version of the NCC and there is always the problem of loading image (I had one picture in the Default folder and then at the start of the program it tried to load it) then it freezes to say after a long time that there is a problem of memory.

Here's join the log. the .NEF file, I'll try to upload it at home, here I have a bad connection.

Another thing, when you didn't uninstall NCC, you have a prompt to say that the program of installation will do it but I think that since one or two versions, it didn't do ti. Normal ?
