Hi all,

They want to up me from 2MB to 4MB, same price that I'm paying now. The catch is a 2 year contract obligation. Coming fresh from the States as it were, this isn't a big deal, as this is SOP for cell phone contracts, Internet contracts, house alarm contracts, general service contracts, etc. But since this is a country where the concept of a contract is like a stop sign in Long Beach (i.e. don't believe everything you read) I was wondering what some of the more settled members of our list thought about what seems to be a very good offer from Bezeq.

Also, it's been a year since we started this list. I want to make it public on the other lists, basically inviting the yishuv to barrage us with their computer questions. Are we all okay with this? I would like responses from everyone who reads this, since it is going to have the effect of increased email traffic.

Le me know..

Must be getting bored Marc, more email traffic? I'm fine with that,
but expect questions in Hebrew!

I usually sign with Bezeq on a 1 year contract and they have been
giving me better deals as well or upping my speed (not that I notice a
difference!) They do it for one reason: good old competition. They are
concerned, or they get wind that the competition like HOT is calling
their customers giving them cheaper rates. When we first came here 5
years ago they offered nothing besides a lower rental rate for the
modem (the bezeq store had no idea I could hook it up to a router or
even to a PC that wasn't windows)! I do feel more comfortable with a 1
year contract though. Is this the land line side or the PPPOE side?

I just enquired about upping my speed with Bezeq today. Synchronicity? The
difference in price for a one year contract versus a two year contract was
NIS 5 per month. I prefer one year contracts also. This industry changes too
quickly.

Why not open the list up. I don't know about the Hebrew, personally.
