An Invitation to Our Chanukat HaBayit

It's been nine short months,
(And a couple weeks more,)
Since we made aliyah,
And walked through the door.

We started by renting,
But me and my spouse,
Both knew our ambition,
Was buying this house.

So after some haggling,
(A drawn out ordeal,)
We came to a price,
And shook on the deal.

We've finally managed,
to sift through the pile,
Of bank mortgage papers,
Stacked high as a mile.

"We're living our dream!"
We cried through our tears,
"It's finally our home!"
(Well, in twenty-five years.)

So join us this Friday,
For light morning fare,
At our Chanukat HaBayit,
We'll all see you there!
