Plymouth "Bluegrassin' In The Foothills" Festival This Weekend
The 4th Annual Bluegrassin' In The Foothills Festival returns to the
Amador County Fairgrounds in Plymouth (50 miles east of Sacramento)
September 15-17. The best line-up ever, with the same great facilities
and organization...and it's lots of fun. NCBS will be there, so happen
on by and say hello to our NCBS booth folks. They will say hello back.
Just like small town life in the 1950s! It just doesn't get any
friendlier than that -- I've seen it on TV.

Always Thinkin' At The End: Bluegrass Thrives On The Peninsula!
Those of us who live in San Mateo County (on the peninsula south of San
Francisco and north of Palo Alto) know that there is lots of live
bluegrass in the area -- but we either have to drive up to The City or
down to The (Silicon) Valley to find it. But no longer -- Two
hardworking NCBS volunteers are busy remaking our little part of the
bluegrass world.
Mike Russell has created a successful "NCBS First Thursdays" bluegrass
series at the historic Prince of Wales Pub in San Mateo, now in its 4th
hugely successful year (after somewhat shaky beginnings!).
Meanwhile, former NCBS board member Patrick Weldon landed the famed
annual Dulcimer Summit for Redwood City, moving it from Felton this
past August. He is also instrumental in the free, weekly "Bluegrass at
the Library" summer program at the new downtown Redwood City Library.
Now Patrick has revived the successful NCBS-sponsored "Lumberjack
Bluegrass Festival" for next February 17 at the Peninsula Christian
Center near downtown Redwood City.
Thanks, Mike! --- Thanks, Pat!
Your hard work is much appreciated!...mh
