News & Announcements

Special Called Business Meeting on Sunday, August 24, 2008 immediately following the evening worship service. The purpose of this meeting is to vote to extend an invitation to Jason Cox to join our church staff as part-time Director of Student Ministries.

An Informal "Get Acquainted" time with Jason and Dawn Cox will take place in the Annex on Sunday afternoon, August 24 between 4:30 and 5:30.

CHRISTMAS IN AUGUST - Drop off your school supplies in the Welcome Center. Thank you.

We are now accepting applications for a part-time Financial Secretary. They are due in the office by Wednesday, August 27.

CHOIR SCHOLARSHIP - We will be offering a scholarship to someone who is taking private voice or instrument lessons. If you are interested in applying, you may pick up an application from Lanny Green and return it to the church office by August 31.

WOMEN'S CONFERENCE - Spiritual Makeovers - Saturday, September 6, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at NCBC. All women are invited. Featured speakers are Becky Davis and Beth Berkey. Admission: Free (love offerings accepted).

Tailgate Party - Mon. Sept. 1 in the North Parking Lot at 7 p.m. Watch UT vs UCLA on the big screen at the shed at 8 p.m.

Pint-sized Project will be Sunday, August 24 at 6 p.m. for ages 3 years through kindergarten. It will be a water activity - so dress appropriately and bring a towel. In case of rain, PSP will be in room 312.

MISSIONS LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE - Sat., Sept. 6 at Ooltewah Baptist Church. 8:30 a.m. - 12:25 p.m. Classes for WOM, GA, and Mission Friends leaders.

WALK FOR LIFE...to support the New Hope Pregnancy Care Center will be Sat., Sept. 27 at Cleveland High. If you would like to participate, you may pre-register in the Welcome Center or the Vestibule this week.

Women on Mission meetings - Monday, Aug. 25 at 6:30 p.m. and Tuesday, August 26 at 1:00 p.m. in the Annex.

Newly Elected Deacons are: Sam Bettis, Scott Franklin, Dennis Franks, DeWayne Morrow, Terry Morrow, and Kevin Hicks. These men will serve for 3 years with the exception of Kevin Hicks who will serve for 2 years.

CHRISTMAS IN AUGUST - This is the last week to drop off your school supplies in the Welcome Center for the ministry of Reggie Robbins in Atlanta. Thank you for supporting our GAs in this project.

Attention All Sunday School Teachers - Our church will be hosting a Sunday School Training Conference featuring leaders from the TBC on Thursday evening, Sept. 4 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. This will be a great opportunity for you to learn more about teaching tools and techniques.

WOMEN'S CONFERENCE - Spiritual Makeovers - Saturday, September 6, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at NCBC. All women are invited. Featured speakers are Becky Davis and Beth Berkey. Admission: Free (love offerings accepted).

There will be a wedding shower for Amanda Harrington and Josh Holder on Sunday, September 14 from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. in the Annex. The couple is registered with Bed, Bath & Beyond, Belk, The Pampered Chef (or call Karen at 336-9876), and Disney Honeymoons.

MOVING NOTICE! The Happy Hearts have moved to Room 513 in the Annex, next to the kitchen and the Helping Hands class will meet at Nancy Sharo's office. Lanny Green's office will be located in the Annex in room 503. The Youth office will be in Room 506 and Men 1 (Sam Bettis' class) will meet in Room 508.
Rain has forced a one-week delay in the relocation of classes that meet in the Sanctuary basement. Those classes will meet in the Bradley Baptist Association Office building starting Sept. 7th.

BAPTIST MEN ON MISSION work days for moving furniture and equipment out of the basement have been changed to September 5th and 6th at 8:30 a.m.

It's Football Time in Tennessee And It's Tailgate Time at NCBC! Join us Monday, September 1 at 7:00 p.m. in the north parking lot for a Tennessee Tailgate Party. Bring goodies to enjoy and share. At 8:00 p.m. we will watch the UT vs UCLA game on a ten-foot screen! Sponsored by the NCBC Men on Mission
