OUR PRESCHOOL MINISTRY HAS GROWN - We are
in need of WorshipCare helpers in both the 11 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
services. If you would like to help once every 3 months or more
often, please let Amanda know or contact the church office.
GOLDEN STATE MISSIONS OFFERING -
September is the month we emphasize Tennessee State Missions. This
offering helps our Disaster Relief Team, helps plant new
congregations in our state, and many other worthwhile ministries.
Envelopes are provided in the pew racks.
MOTORCYCLE DINNER RIDE - Monday, Sept. 15
- We will be leaving the church parking lot at 5:45 p.m.
There will be a wedding shower for Amanda Harrington and Josh
Holder on Sunday, September 14 from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. in the Annex.
The couple is registered with Bed, Bath & Beyond, Belk, The
Pampered Chef (www.pamperedchef.biz/KarenGal or call Karen at
336-9876), and Disney Honeymoons

WALK FOR LIFE...to support the New Hope
Pregnancy Care Center will be Sat., Sept. 27 at Cleveland High
beginning at 9 a.m. If you would like to participate, please contact
Sheri Mowery for more information. There is also information in the
Welcome Center.
NCBC CHILDCARE OPENINGS - We have some
openings for infants ages 6 weeks to 5 months and pre-k children
whose birthdays are between 10-1-03 and 9-30-04 and will be entering
kindergarten in the fall of 2009. Please call Amanda at
472-4172.
There will be a wedding shower for Cheyna Hull and Nick Mason on
Sunday, September 28 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Annex. The couple
is registered at Target, Walmart, Lowes and The Pampered Chef.
Congratulations to Trae and Shannon Bates and big sister, Emma on
the birth of William Thurman Bates, IV and Jackson Lee Bates. Proud
grandparents are Bill and Anita Bates and proud great grandparents
are T.J. and June Cawood. The twins were
born on September 3rd.
Old Fashioned Gospel Singing in the Annex on Friday, Sept 19
beginning at 6 p.m. Bring finger foods. Sponsored by The Senior
Adults. If you enjoy Southern Gospel Music, please feel free to join
us even if you are not a senior!
Believing, Belonging & Becoming is a church orientation class
for new and prospective members. It will be on Sunday, September 28
from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. If you would like to be a part of this
class, please sign up on the registration form on The Evangel or
call the church office. Please let us know if you will need
childcare.
CONSTRUCTION PROJECT PROGRESS
· The architect has reviewed the Multi Purpose building plans in
person with the State Fire Marshall and determined the requirements
to obtain approval. Changes are being made to the plans to
incorporate the revisions and final approval by the State Fire
Marshall is expected in early October. · Demolition activities
are expected to be complete this week in the basement of the
sanctuary and construction of the new office suite and choir rooms
will begin next week. The new retainer walls and the concrete walk
to the basement entry from the Annex will be in progress late this
week, weather permitting. · Grade work for the parking lot
expansion south of the Annex is in progress. Once the grades are
completed and the upgrades are made to the drainage structures, the
rock base and a temporary binder coat of asphalt will be placed so
the church can use the lot during the remainder of
construction.
