A veteran was shot and killed in a store robbery over the weekend in Wayne
County, according to our newsgathering partner WRAL.
According to police, two people robbed a Family Dollar in Goldsboro on
Sunday afternoon. During the robbery, one of them shot store manager
Alexander Thomas, who was working a cash register during the robbery.
Thomas was taken to UNC Health Wayne, where he died from his injuries.
Thomas, 46, was an Air Force veteran.
Police caught the two suspects. Both men are currently being held at the
Wayne County Detention Center under no bond.
