I've been wondering the same thing. I'm in Greenville, SC, but raised
on NC rocks. Looking to get out to Table Rock and the Amphetheater this
summer.

Have you seen the falcons on Devil's Courthouse?

Well, as I said I haven't really done much. Is anyone here familiar with a
little hill called Crowdwer's Mountain in Gastonia/Kings Mtn, North Carolina?

: )

Unfortunately, Yes.

I climbed Crowders, and Kings Pinnacle before it was closed, when I
lived in Charlotte (1985-89). I went back five years later and was not
as impressed. It is a good local rock for bouldering, but it is rotten
and falling apart.

Try Linville Gorge or, closer to Charlotte, Stone Mountain and Moore's
Wall. If you can find a copy of the North Carolina Climbers' Guide it
is a worthwhile purchase.

isn't it sad... :) i was living in Gastonia up until 94 and it was fine
because it was the only thing i had ever known as far as climbing. then i went
to Nantahala and climbed some with my dad... now i went back to crowders and
was nowhere near as content as i once was.
and all this from the girlie that moved to the coast... hahaha...no mountains
here!
