Hi Catherine,
I hope you can join us for the 110k ride, the time limit for it is 7 hours 20 minutes for the 71 miles. This is the total time of the ride which includes all the stopping time at the control points, usually convenience stores. Most of the time riders will stay together at the start, then depending on their climbing speed will break up on accents. We typically regroup at the control points along the way. The first control is just after the top of Jack Bennett Rd, which is one of the longer hills in the area and a good place to regroup. After that the route goes over to Bynum for a visit to a local folk artist's home that is full of primitive wooden sculpture. Then across the old Bynum bridge and up the old road and over to Pittsboro for the next control. After that is a half dozen or so rolling hills to Moncure. Then up Pea Ridge Rd towards the Jordan Lake recreational areas. There's a few more stores along the way in case you're in need of a drink or a break.
It's a nice ride and would probably be a good introduction to Rando riding.
Thanks Mike
