110K Pre-Complete

Hey everyone, the 100k pre-ride is complete and I'm happy to report no road closures along the route. Tom Mankowich, aka Tommy Mank, and I rode it Saturday and we couldn't have asked for better weather, other than the headwind for the last 28 miles after leaving Moncure. 

Speaking of Moncure, the road was choppy and full of potholes right after leaving Ray's supermarket and remained bumpy until the bridge.

We had the typically Sat afternoon traffic along Jordan Lake with plenty of boat trailers and RVs. 

Hope you can join us next Saturday for the official ride.

Hi all, 

Looking forward to joining the ride next weekend. I ordered a vest and ankle bands from the RUSA shop, but it looks like they won't arrive in time. Any chance someone riding next weekend has an extra on hand I could borrow? It's only required during the day in case of rain or fog, correct?

Also, where's the cookout happening and what can I bring to contribute?

Hi Catherine, 

I think they are only required to be worn in low visibility conditions like you mentioned. Mike, can you check me on this? I have extra I can loan out if needed to keep us all in compliance. :)

Also, is everyone pretty much riding the 110k? I was going to ride the 200 but time is a little tight for me that day. So if everyone else is riding the populaire distance I don't need much convincing to ride that one.
