Alan's B-day 110k ride and cookout on Mar 15th

Hey everyone,

The long range forecast is looking great for RBA Emeritus Alan Johnson's 82nd birthday ride and cookout this Sat. Here's the link to the ride info: https://raleighrando.web.unc.edu/uncategorized/939/ 

Please let me know if you plan on riding so we can purchase enough burgers/food for everyone. I'm planning on grilling turkey burgers but will be purchasing a small box of veggie burgers for anyone that cares for one.

Cost of the ride is $10 to help cover the cost of the food. Venmo will be accepted for payments. If you would like a paper brevet card, feel free to download and print one. Electronic proof of passage will be accepted instead of brevet cards.

Queue sheets and the Ride with GPS track is on the website as well. You can download the waiver yourself, however you must bring the signed copy to the start. If you do that, send me a pic of the signed waiver before the ride start. I will have blank copies of the waiver available at the start. Registration starts at 8am and the ride starts at 9am.

Lastly, you must be a current member of RUSA to ride the 110k route.

However, everyone is welcome to join us post ride for burgers and chocolate cake. Rumor has it that Alan will have a batch of his home brew ready as well.

I trust Allen and all will have a grand time at tomorrow’s event. Unfortunately I finally got mine - Covid. I’d had all of the Vaccines over the years, usually early as a healthcare provider. 

I’ve had a couple of cruddy days, but all in all not so bad. 

Enjoy the ride, I’ll be out there somewhere riding solo …, until I’m cleared.
