I want to publicly give a huge thanks to John and Brian for hosting the wildly successful Dart Pop yesterday... and paying the bar tab. That is how it's done, Chapeau!

John went Hors catégorie in the route planning and rider recruitment. The work you put in is honestly nothing short of amazing. Two years ago, there was one team of five of us; yesterday Mike handed out, what like 25 pins?

If y'all want to keep putting together cool rides, and paying for the beer, I will absolutely, probably be there.

Team Orange Slice of Life took the honors with a 7hr 59min 13s finish. 

Certainly one for the books.

HEY, it warms my heart to see the Raleigh Rando scene growing and having fun!

I was pal'ing around with Luke a few weeks ago... and he was telling
me about Raleigh folks riding the AVL brevets, and how the scene in NC
is growing (Raleigh and AVL).
Such awesome stuff! Kudos to the old chapeau's welcoming in the newer
folks, and much love to the newer folks joining the scene.

Really though, the fun and success was only possible because of all the people that turned out. This includes of course all the newly minted RUSA members John E almost singlehandedly talked into joining (I believe the count was something like 17!!) but also the seasoned randonneurs that rode. Thanks to all of you!

I agree with Kyle, this was my third RUSA team event and the first time we've had enough participation to have more than one team, it somehow felt way less sad and more in keeping with the spirit of the event to have multiple (6!!!) teams all converging on Saxapahaw. Really cool stuff.

To those that weren't able to make it out this time - I hope to see you soon!

Yeah this event was totally awesome. This was my first RUSA team event and it was really cool to see how it helped mint some potential new riding partners. I had Chuck & Lee from team "Sax Pistols" up at my airbnb talking about past and future rides till about midnight. It was also really cool to hear stories from all the teams' rides at the finish. And having a mix of seasoned randos and brand new RUSA members was a dynamic I was very much looking forward to, so I'm very thankful for you all and all the new RUSA members that turned out!. I look forward to many more rides & social gatherings - I didn't get to talk to any of you as much as I would have liked to!
