I'm excited about being able to meet some fellow NC Farkers and was
hoping for some conversation in this group. Guess I'll start it up.
Who is coming to the Fark Party? Where is everyone from?

I'm planning on going. I've lived in California (LA), Virigina, and
Boston before moving to RTP about a year and a half ago (voluntary
relocation for work). I'm mostly a lurker and have never been to a
fark party before, but I'm looking forward to it.

Thanks for breaking the ice -- I kept checking in on the page, hoping
someone else would do it for me. That's right, I'm even a lurker on
google groups.

I'll be there (I'd better!) too.  I'm currently living in Carrboro, moved here from Charlotte (lived there 1 year).  Before that I was in Chicago for about 5 years.  Before that I was born and raised in the Washington DC area (NoVA).

I'm looking forward to the party and I'm hoping that we have more discussion here AFTER we meet up and maybe get to know each other a tiny bit.

k.

I'll be there along with my (non-Farker) wife.  Hopefully we'll have a good turnout.  We're originally from Pennsylvania, and moved to the area in 2000.

Ah, the lurkers awake. My husband (non Farker) and I will be coming
from Burlington so I don't think we'll be drinking very heavily
considering the forty-five minute to an hour drive back home but we're
hoping to have a good time. Is there going to be any kind of a dress
code for this or can we just wear anything? I don't know what proper
attire is for a Fark party.

Where something very skimpy, preferably out of site of your
husband...Seriously, It's a pretty casual place, definitely very cool
next to the ball park. I wont be bringing the wife (she doesn't
understand my Farking) but barring having to babysit for a friend of
ours I'll be there with bells on, or with a Dogfish 90 minute in hand.

Son of a! If it makes me sound like more of a Farker I'll tell you
that I was building a RAID array at the time while troubleshooting a
CISCO router.

\seriously
\\you got me though, I think we've made a bond.

Okay, definitely very cool. A little geeky but I give it an 8 on the
creative scale.

The logo to that site on the other hand......what site is that they
got it from? I remember making a website in college (circa '98) and
using that site to get a logo. It wasn't technically a logo creator
but just a way to make funky text into a JPG. Sorry, first thing I
thought of.....floppies into a RAID array is a pretty cool idea.

I'll be wearing jeans (at least for the first hour, then I might be down to my boxers) and a t-shrt.  No dress code.

Well, looks like we won't be joining you guys on this round. My
babysitter just bailed on me. We'll have to have another one of these
things soon, perhaps a regular event?

I'm hoping that we do it often.  I'm also about other outings like Durham Bulls games, fun day things like Franks Fun Park, etc etc.

I'll be there. I think. If I don't drown on the way.

Green and blue striped rugby shirt and jeans.  The wife is wearing a green sweater and jeans.  I'll probably be wearing a blue jacket, depending on how the rain is when we get there.

I'll be there! I'm going to be wearing more sensible shoes, given the
weather, though . . .
