Hi,

I've got a problem and I was wondering if there was someone in or near
Raleigh that could help me. I just got a Neo Geo 1 slot (Jamma) board
and I'm trying to hook it up. Everything works fine on it, but I can't
get the sound to work. I've got +12v hooked up and when I check
everything I get 11.9V on the 12v line and I'm getting about 0.8 volts
on the speaker+ and 0.1 volts on speaker-. Are these values correct?
I'm not sure if it's my power supply or what. Is there someone that
has a Jamma cab that would let me hook up my board to see that the
sound does indeed work? The board was sold to me in good working
condition and I've verified that the video works fine...just no sound.
I've got another 2 slot board that I can also not get sound out of, so
I'm thinking it's my wiring or power supply. Let me know if someone
can help me out.

Thanks,
Scott

If I remember correctly, the NG aren't 100% JAMMA. You have to hook up
the sound differently (so you can get stereo). Some of the one slots
have a switch that switches from sound on the JAMMA harness to the
other sound hookups (to get stereo).

I have one of those other one-slots with the switches. I have three
different JAMMA cabs/test boxes and you are more than welcome to come
by here if you want. I'm in Holly Springs.

You can also find manuals for all of the NG online - you may want to
download one for your particular NG board and have a look.

Thanks for letting me come try my board out at your place. I'll
probably take you up on that. My board does have the switch for
stereo/mono and I tried it both ways. On mono I tapped into the Jamma
harness and on stereo I tried using the onboard connector...nothing. I
went to www.hardmvs.com, but they only have a partial manual for the
MV-1 board. Would this Saturday or Sunday work for you? My inlaws
live in Apex, and I'm sure I"ll be out there sometime this weekend.
Let me know when's a good time for you.

Thanks,
Scott
