Dear Randy,

My name is Tonya Althiser.  Libby Connery and I are co-chairing the Greensboro First Moravian Church Candle Tea event this year.

For nearly 60 years, First Moravian Church in Greensboro has hosted an annual holiday event, in the tradition of Old Salem, called Candle Tea.  At this event we offer our "gift" to the greater area community which includes music, traditional arts & crafts, baked goods including Moravian chicken pies, demonstrations & exhibits, as well as a tavern serving Moravian sugar cake & coffee, all designed to provide our visitors a welcoming, educational, and memorable experience.

Among our demonstrators visitors will find artists, candle makers, potters, a Moravian star maker and traditionally, a blacksmith.  Recently our blacksmith has relocated out of the state, so we are actively seeking someone who might be willing (and equipped with portable blacksmithing equipment) to participate in one or both days of our event.

In the event there is someone interested who would like to sell items as well as demonstrate, I have attached our standard agreement with existing vendors which provides some additional details.  As this event also serves as a fund raising event for our mission projects home and abroad, we request that each consignor donate 20% of his or her gross sales to the First Moravian Church Women’s Fellowship Candle Tea Fund.

Our Candle Tea this year is scheduled for Friday, December 6th from 2:00 - 8:00 pm and Saturday, December 7th from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm.  We are hoping you might consider this invitation and/or share this request with members of your Triangle Blacksmith Guild, in the hopes that someone in your circle might have an interest.

Thanks so very much for considering our request, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

All the best,

Tonya Althiser
