Dear Lyle

Please read carefully for the changes to our submission policy.

If you are a metal artist and use a hammer and anvil you are eligible to submit work for Toe River Arts 2024 Annual Blacksmith Exhibition. The exhibition is in conjunction with the Fire on the Mountain Festival and the dates are March 30- April 27 (the day of the festival). We have changed some of the requirements for this year’s exhibition. There is no application fee and no jurying process to submit work, BUT YOU MUST FILL OUT THE ONLINE APPLICATION AND THE WORK YOU SUBMIT MUST BE FOR SALE. There may be some exceptions, contact our Exhibition Manager, Kathryn Andree, to see if you qualify. We encourage blacksmiths of all levels and work of all sizes and price points. We want this year’s exhibition to be diversified and reflect not only the professional blacksmiths, but also amateur blacksmiths and beginning blacksmiths.

To apply, go to our website toeriverarts.org and click on Artist Opportunities and then Blacksmith Exhibition or use this link.

Please fill out your personal information and also provide a description of the work you plan to submit. Add images if available. Each artist may submit two larger pieces or 4 smaller pieces or a combination. The application deadline is March 9 and the work is due in the gallery the week of March 19-23 between 10:30am -4:30 pm. Delivery address is 269 Oak Ave, Spruce Pine, NC 28777. If your work is being shipped, please be sure that the box contains your personal information along with the information, title, media and price. Shipping costs are the responsibility of the artist.

To get the word out please forward this email to any blacksmiths you feel might be interested in participating in this exhibition

If you have questions please feel free to contact Kathryn at kat...@toeriverarts.org or call 828-765-0520.

This is an excellent opportunity to have your work displayed along with great hand forged examples of our trade.  Please consider being a part of this exhibition.

NCABANA is currently making plans to sponsor and support our collective booth space at Fire on the Mountain 2024 set for 27th April.  I look forward to leading our effort again next year.  More information to follow in the new year.

Thanks for your consideration,  Lyle
