like that title says looking for tips I've logged 300 hours but when ever I end up using trains its ugly and I simply end up make trains go from point A to B going from resource straight back to my base. Why do people have "stackers" and how do they plan nice straight rails in parallel

Lately I have been working on this train world. it's a slow process but I'm getting there. the end goal is to have a starter to do really big production lines. still need to figure out how much of each space elevator parts is possible, but the plan is to produce as much as possible for each of them.

So, to achieve this goal, items will obviously need to be transported. don't know from where to where, but I know I'll need trains all over the map to do it (don't suggest drones, they are not remotely as cool as trains). I played in the starter train world that totalXclipse shared (I think it's pretty old now), and it was mostly great, apart from two issues I had with it:

Why am I making this post now and not when I'm done? mainly because I plan to share this save file. So, I would appreciate suggestions, notes, special requests (like: "I always wanted an train to go on the north coast of the Rocky Desert" or something idk) and most importantly, how would this save file serve you best?

Now, it is even becoming a competitor in price, with budget-high-speed rail options appearing in Europe. Germany, Italy, France, Spain, China, and Japan boast extensive high-speed rail networks, with trains that can reach speeds of over 300km/h.

Reportedly developed in response to Italo, a private high-speed rail operator in Italy, the ETR1000 trainsets carry 457 passengers in eight-car non-articulated 200-metre trains, with an engineered maximum speed of 400km/h.

The Renfe Class 103 is a high-speed train that Spanish state-run operator Renfe uses for its AVE high-speed service. The trains, also known as Series 103 or S103, are manufactured by Siemens as part of the Velaro family.

JR Central is developing an experimental Maglev Shinkansen, the L0 Series. Manufactured by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and JR Central subsidiary Nippon Sharyo, the trains use the Japanese SCMaglev system.

The ICE 3, or Intercity-Express 3, is a family of high-speed electric multiple-unit trains manufactured by Siemens and Bombardier. The ICE 3 is operated mainly by Deutsche Bahn (DB), but also by Dutch Railway operator Nederlandse Spoorwegen (NS).

ICE 3 trains operate at the national maximum high-speed railways track speed of 320km/h in Germany, but have pipped their competition in this list due to the fact that the class 403 is authorised to run at speeds of 330km/h on the high-speed line between Frankfurt and Cologne to overcome delays. The CRH380A has the second-highest recorded speed of the Harmony trains, clocking 486.1km/h during a test run in 2010. Controversially, although it was not produced under a technology transfer agreement, there are accusations that the CRH380A is based on unlicensed Japanese Shinkansen technology.

Another notable Harmony model is the CRH380D, derived from the Bombardier Zefiro 380. With a record test speed of 483km/h, the highest speed ever recorded by a conventional unmodified high-speed train, there are 85 trainsets currently in operation in China, split across the Shanghai Railway and Chengdu Railway.

The Belmond British Pullman is a luxury, vintage train which operates a full array of day trips and weekend breaks throughout Britain, many of them with themes such as castles, gardens, historic houses, romance and Christmas.

Weaving through the Peruvian Andes at 14,000 feet, the Belmond Andean Explorer transports passengers between Arequipa and Cusco on one- and two-night journeys. There are just thirty-five cabins on board, each outfitted with alpaca wool blankets and handwoven fabrics for an authentic yet luxe feel. Two dining cars and two bar cars serve the whims of every guest with bites like alpaca tortellini and (of course) champagne. The train also makes excursions to Lake Titicaca, where guests can learn about local customs, visit Incan ruins, and take in breath-taking views.

Modern trains have progressed in the exact same way. For example, the new jaguar is much more refined then the XK120 was. From the basic injection moulding of the 1950s to the highly specialised mouldings with steam sound. As the technology improves so too do the model trains.

As new technologies are developed and instituted, future trains may achieve even greater velocities.

The original goal of the Maglev project was to produce a train that could cover the route from Tokyo to Osaka in less than one hour. This will be achieved when the Maglev line is extended from Nagoya to Osaka, expected to be in operation by 2045.

Eighty percent of the 286 kilometers (177 mile) Maglev bullet train track will be located underground, passing under urban sprawl and mountainous terrain. The project is expected to cost the equivalent of 55 billion dollars.

When completed, the train will include sixteen carriages capable of holding one thousand passengers. At present, the public have been invited to take part on Maglev test rides. Tourists can visit the SC Maglev Parkway in Nagoya or the Yamanashi Prefectural Maglev Exhibition Center near the town of Otsuki to learn more and view Maglev test runs.

The Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central) is overseeing the project which will cost an estimated 5.52tn yen ($52b). They have ordered 14 new Series L0 (L zero) Maglev trains which are currently conducting long-distance trials on the Yamanashi Maglev test line.
