Collective NBN donation to Black Lives Matter Chicago

Hi everyone,

For those of you not on staff who haven't seen it, NBN released a statement yesterday in support of the Black Lives Matter movement and the ongoing protests. In that statement, we encourage readers to go beyond raising awareness and donate to organizations supporting Black Lives Matter. We don't want our support to stop there, however. As a large student org, we have the means and the responsibility to make a tangible impact. Therefore, we're currently raising funds for a collective donation from NBN to Black Lives Matter Chicago. 

We would greatly appreciate any and all contributions if you have the financial means to do so. I'm accepting funds on my Venmo (@dmdeloso) through the next couple days, and looking to make the donation on Wednesday if possible. Please do not mention "Donation," "Black Lives Matter," or any permutation thereof in the memo, as I've been told Venmo has suspended accounts for fundraising.

We're still accepting contributions for our collective donation! Our current total is $646.66, and I know we can push that number even higher! If you haven't pitched in and are able, please consider donating - any amount helps! Still accepting venmos on my personal account (@dmdeloso). Thank you so much to everyone who contributed to this over the past couple days. Together, we raised a total of $1004.79 for Black Lives Matter Chicago! I am so grateful for the generosity and support of the NBN community. While our donation has been sent in and I am no longer accepting funds, I encourage those of you who have the means to continue to donate to bail funds, organizations and fundraisers in support of the Black Lives Matter movement. I've attached a screenshot of the donation for transparency, but if you'd like to see the full receipts and documentation, please let me know and I can provide screenshots!
