Hi everyone,
Many of you probably received a message containing serious allegations of sexual assault earlier today. The email was sent to the Politics, Creative Writing, Opinion and Audio email lists, and it is also my understanding that other organizations on campus received the same email.

First and foremost, I would urge anyone who received that email to ignore and/or delete it. This email contained information that was inappropriate to communicate in any public capacity, let alone NBN's email lists. We have communicated this incident to the relevant administrative offices, and I will take care of any further action.

While this individual has previously contributed to NBN, the email was completely unrelated to us and their subject matter is not relevant to our organization. The individual who sent the email in question has been removed from our email lists, and will no longer have any affiliation with us.

For future reference, the use of our section listservs is reserved for current editors. We're in the process of changing permissions in light of today's email, but if there's anything you'd like to communicate to the section listservs going forward, please contact your section editor directly.

If you found the email uncomfortable or upsetting, please know that we're here to support you if you'd like to talk.

Best,
David
