Re: [NBC-NVC] Agenda NBC meeting in Tallinn

Dear friends,

 

I have decided not to attend our next meeting in Tallinn, and want to let you know. Staying at home let me meet needs in ways that are very clear to me, and to join you in Tallinn I would have to break a promise to a friend to play percussion in a musical. I promised her long ago, but just learned this week that the musical was going to be the same weekend as our meeting.

 

Having made up my mind not to come, I feel relief and joy for what that frees me to do around here (and I am sure my wife feels the same way), sad for what I will be missing out on, concern and confusion around where we are going and how many will show up, and at least a little self-compassion as I reflect on the energy I am pouring into other commitments and how I long to rest right now.

 

I really wish I had more inspiring news to bring you. Sending this to you is like dropping a heavy weight from my shoulders. I hope it will not land on anyone’s  toes!
