Hadrian Mar Elijah Bar Israel (Aramaic: אדרין מר אליא בר ישראל ) is the Emeritus Metropolitan of the Nazarani Church and the first Nazarani Metropolitan. He is also a complementary care physician, neurologist and founder of La Clinique Complémentaire; a private clinic with a global reach.
Known as "Mar Elijah", he is the author of more than five hundred (500+) publications on history, law, linguistics, medicine, nutrition, and religion in various languages. He is also the author of the Nazareth Charter, the only human rights charter ever promulgated which guarantees both economic rights and a fundamental right to life.
As the founder of the Netseran Language Institute he is the general editor of the interactive Netseran Encyclopaedia, and progenitor of the Netseran Aramaic dialect (Aramaic: נצרניית ארמיתא Aramitha Netseranayit). This is the modern version of the Galilean dialect that was spoken by Yeshue and His apostles adapted to be spoken by people today. He is also the general editor of the Eidutha - Journal of Aramaic and Ancient Christian Studies and the creator of the Nazarani True Type Font, which is used by a number of liturgical books for use in the Nazarani Rite and other publications.
Mar Elijah is also working on The Bible Translated (TBT), a project to translate the Torah, Aleppo Codex (Old Testament), and Khabouris Codex (New Testament) simultaneously into both English and Spanish from the original Hebrew and Aramaic.
He is the creator of Undō Rinen 運動理念 (Japanese 日本語: literally “exercise philosophy”), a martial art
which has the ability to allow even chronically and catastrophically
sick persons some means to recover their health, mobility and sometimes
even their full wellness by taking advantage of the brain's inherent neuroplasticity.
An avid graphic designer and artist, he has designed the logos of over seventy companies and organizations, a multitude of book covers , and other digital graphic arts, and is known for his designing the Computer Pioneers Bitcoin Notes, and for the digital restoration of a number of ancient manuscripts and precious works of art. He also has a number of tangible arts in his portfolio in various mediums, including the now famous Nazarani Prayer Bowls, and a number of hand made masks.
Mar Elijah made the Charitable Trust Handbook Project
as a standard reference manual for charitable trust organizations to do
business in the U.S.A. The project was taken over by the Cosmopolis Trust Company, and is now being converted into an interactive online reference to help charitable organizations and their organizers make a better world for the people they serve.
He sits on the boards of more than sixty (60) non-profit and charitable organizations around the world. Among them the Christian Services Initiative, the Conservatory Foundation, the International Society of Chaplains, the Libertarian Center for Peace and Justice, the Nazarani Foundation, the Hamel Fund, Righteous Endeavour, the Westhaven Community Trust, and the Zeitoun News Agency.
In an interview given after his retirement in 2017 he said, "As for me, it is my desire to take the time I have available in my retirement to bring a Theory of Mind and Biological Foundations of Consciousness to the table; which can better help humanity to understand how mind, consciousness and physics work together to create the experience of our day-to-day reality within the Universe."
