Mango is considered the King of fruits. They are liked and loved because of their sweet taste but it’s quite a surprise that raw mangoes are equally liked by many people because of their tangy taste. These fruits have been cultivated for centuries and are native to southeast Asia. Today they are popular across the world. Every year we wait for summer to get a treat in the form of raw mangoes. Raw mangoes are not just tangy and yummy to eat but it also has got some health benefits for us. Raw mangoes can be eaten up in the form of salad, chutney, pickles, juice, etc., in any form its consumption is surely a power pack for you. Today we are going to learn about some benefits of raw mangoes.

 

Some benefits of eating mangoes are as follows:

 

Promotes Liver Health

Raw mangoes are beneficial for liver health as they help to treat many liver ailments. The acid in the fruit increases the secretion of bile acids and cleans the intestines from bacterial infections. Secretion also helps boost the absorption of fat by cleansing the toxins from the body.

 

Boosts Immunity

Vitamin C and A are present in the raw mangoes. They help to improve the immune system. They also have antioxidants, which protect the body against cancer.

 

Prevents Acidity

Raw mangoes contain antioxidants, and amino acids which work together to neutralize the acidity in the stomach, as a result, it reduces the acid reflux and eases acidity.

 

Eases Gastrointestinal Disorders

Raw mangoes are rich in pectin, which is highly beneficial in treating gastrointestinal disorders. It is also very effective for diarrhea, piles, indigestion, constipation, morning sickness and chronic dyspepsia.

Consuming raw mangoes on hot summer days helps to reduce the effects of intense heat and prevent dehydration. It is because raw fruit stops the excessive loss of sodium chloride and iron from the body.

 

Treatment of Scurvy

Scurvy is a disease resulting from a lack of vitamin C, which causes bleeding in gums, rashes, bruising, weakness and fatigue. As raw mangoes are rich in vitamin C, raw mangoes help to cure this issue. Raw mangoes play a vital role in promoting dental hygiene by preventing bad breath and fighting tooth decay.

 

Side Effects of Eating Too Many Raw Mangoes

Anything taken in excess can never be good for you. Eating too many raw mangoes can cause some serious problems, such as.

·       Abdominal colic

·       Loose motions

·       Rashes on the skin.

 

Hence it is advisable to consume raw or ripe mangoes in an amount tolerable to your body.

 

Mango is one of the most nutritious and tasty fruits available. It is a season-specific fruit and if we talk about raw mangoes, they are only available until the mangoes ripen. Since it comes for a short time, one needs to take the maximum benefit of it. Every seasonal fruit has its own benefits. As raw mangoes come in summer, which is a hot season, these green raw mangoes and their juices have been known to provide a cooling effect to the body. It is also evident that during summer digestion slows down, the raw mangoes are easily digestible providing good energy. They are alkaline in nature, which helps to reduce acidity to a great extent.
