The workflow based software helps the user to build his own analyzing methods step by step by choosing and putting together suitable modules from the existing supply. This generated workflow can then be used recurring for a large number of images.
The mission of the Ragon Institute Immunology Core is to bring the latest imaging modalities to bear on fundamental molecular and cell biological questions pertaining to human disease. As an MGH core facility, it serves the greater MGH community in all aspects of flow cytometry, cell sorting, advanced microscopy and image analysis. The Microscopy division of the Ragon Institute Imaging Core is located on the 8th floor of 400 Technology Square in Cambridge (Main Street). The core offers training, assistance and access to a wide variety of imaging systems including slide scanners (TissueFAXS and Zeiss MIRAX MIDI) for rapid imaging of tissues and adhered cell populations, high resolution confocal imaging (Zeiss LSM510), and advanced live cell imaging systems. There is also high-speed, flow-based imaging of cell populations in suspension using the ImagingStreamX MkII by Amnis. Our facility is unique in that our confocal and live cell imaging systems are situated in a BL2S facility. In addition, consultation is provided on sample preparation, experimental design, and advanced image analysis, in addition to assistance with all aspects of the imaging process.
The compute resource is a Linux cluster with approximately 1,000 compute nodes and more than 10,000 processor cores. Subsets of the nodes are connected with low latency, high-bandwidth InfiniBand networks that support large message-passing parallel jobs. Smaller parallel jobs are supported within nodes and, when there is little message-passing, on nodes connected by high-speed Ethernet. Compute nodes with various special capabilities are available, including large-memory and attached GPUs.
In addition to being a Mayo Clinic research core, the Microscopy and Cell Analysis Core is part of the Mayo Clinic Comprehensive Cancer Center, which is a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center. The core also has strong ties with Mayo's clinical departments, including the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology and Mayo Clinic Laboratories.

Faculty, staff, and students have a full access to instrumentation in the shared research support facilities. The majority of instrumentation is located in the core research support laboratories on the fourth floor of Thomas W. Cole Research Center for Science & Technology. A web-based core facility management system, iLab Solutions, is applied for the service and management of CCRTD Research Infrastructure Core. These facilities are supported by the Research Center of Minority Institutions (RCMI) program of National Institute of Health (NIH), the Georgia Research Alliance (GRA), and CAU. They are currently available to users free of charge. Moreover, additional instruments within CCRTD member laboratories are shared by all CCRTD members.
Presently, eight member Universities have been supported by Georgia Research Alliance (GRA); Augusta University, Clark Atlanta University, Emory University, Georgia Institute of Technology, Georgia State University, Mercer University, Morehouse School of Medicine, and University of Georgia. These eight universities that have had major support for their core facilities from GRA signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in 2018, to come under one umbrella known as the Georgia Core Facilities. Under this MOU, Cores in all these institutions are available for the use of researchers from all the institutions at the same rates and terms offered to internal faculty users. What does not get included in the balance sheets are the indirect costs generated from grants obtained with the help of data from our core.
