I bought a Z-fold 4, confident that if the screen began to have problems (like was reported by other people) at least the product would be covered by warranty repair. Nope. Less than 1 year old, and first screen protector started coming loose, then screen itself stopped working. Samsung denied my warranty repair because of tiny scuff mark on corner of phone. This is how you treat customers of your premium products?? Foldable screens are a novel idea, but Samsung has built this poor quality in to their business model.... produce poor quality products then deny warranty claims as a way to boost profits at the customer's expense. Shame.

Had exactly the same problem, had even less damage than that, if you want to claim you would need to walk around with the phone in its box, absolutely disgraceful, these phones have a massive workmanship defect, theres hundreds of reviews with same problem, samsung have lost my business as a consumer, and hopefully will lose others, i have tablets, watches, tvs, phones for all the family

The phone was never dropped, it was rubbed. If they really did a diagnostic test they would have seen this, but I doubt they even bothered. Since this happened to me I have seen a lot of people complaining about the exact same thing, it seems they are just going to look for any possible excuse not to repair the phones. As far as quality, if your screen starts falling off the phone in less than a year it's pretty clear evidence the phones are poor quality.

I agree... this is actually the 2nd Samsung product I had this issue with... before that was a television. The panel started showing big lines of washed out pixels after only 3 months. Sent it in for warranty and was told they wouldn't repair it as there was a small scratch on top of the base by the feet. Happened when sliding it onto the tv cabinet and it rubbed against the w. Again, just an excuse not to repair the product under warranty. This phone will be the last Samsung product I ever buy, it's just shameful business practice.

Same happened to my flip 5. no physical damage to the phone and the screen started giving issues at the flip. Sent the phone to samsung and they said physical damage to the hinge. Not sure what that means and will not honor warranty. I think they have very poor quality and flip and fold phones and do not honor warranty either

Some people says it invalidates your warranty if removed, some say it's only invalidates if you damage it while removing and the. People say they can't claim on there warranty for screen issues when removed.

So I've checked the Samsung website and its day that we are able to replace our screen protectors ourselves which from what I've read, goes against everything including the warning when the phone is first started ?

I have the same issue and advised by staff at experience store that this is covered under warranty and to return it to Samsung, advised on phone that this not covered under warranty but totally OK to replace it myself as its just a screen protector (conveniently the telephone support could not send this advice to me in writing). Advised by Samsung support chat that this was something that would be fixed if I booked in a repair (which I did as I also had a small chip on front screen after dropping my phone). Phone was returned to me with the chipped outer screen repaired but inner screen untouched.. So back to square one. After this appalling experience with support I'll likely never buy another Samsung device again! Nothing but inconsistent advice, inconvenience and nothing that feels like "support"!

As per some of my posts on the Samsung eu community forum I always use Whitestone Dome Glass Screen Protectors on my phone's which are not too hard to apply however after watching various YouTube video tutorials on how to fit the one on the inner screen of my Fold it looked very fiddly so I've decided to leave it without one.

I have always been a Xiaomi user. After a couple friends convinced me to finally get a Samsung I went for the S21 because of the smaller size. It was great, it had everything I needed (very good camera, screen, battery etc...).

Unfortunately after 5 months the screen started playing up. It first took on a orange tint with decreased brightness. I played with every setting imaginable (Eyeshield, brightness etc..). Nothing worked. I then factory reset the phone, that didn't help either. A couple days later half the screen went black, while the other half flickered. Within 20min the screen went full on black. Pressing and holding down the volume down button + home button causes the phone to vibrate as if it is restarting, unfortunately the screen remains black.

After contacting Samsung support in Norway they directed me to a repair shop called Conmodo. To my shock the repair shop said the warranty for the screen was void because of some "big notches in the frame". They gave me two options pay 37 euros to get the phone back unrepaired or 350 euros to repair the screen. I chose the former. On receiving the phone back, unrepaired, I carefully examined the phone and spotted tiny chip marks on the frame of the phone (only on the left half of the frame and upper part). You could easily be forgiven if you didn't see the marks, that is how small they were. I am pretty sure the chips marks were the result of me taking off my case multiple times when cleaning the phone because they are only on the upper and left part on the phone. Makes me wonder about the quality of the phone if a silicone case can do this...

I simply do not for one second believe that some small chip marks on the FRAME caused the whole screen to die over the course of a couple of days. This is simply a blatant excuse to void the warranty. There is no way the repair shop can even ascertain what caused the screen to die just by looking at these tiny marks.

I have heard that the S21 has historically had more issues with its screen when compared with other phones. Considering Samsung knows this there should have been even less reason not to repair the phone under warranty, if they care about the customer.

If my phone had fallen or I did something to cause the black screen then I would be the first to admit it. I would have taken it on the chin and paid for the repair myself, but not like this. 5 months in and the screen outright dies. I slapped on a top notch case with a screen protector and not once dropped my phone. At this point I would have been happier if my phone had fallen off a 6 story building and cracked the screen. At least this way I would know what I am being asked to pay for.

What is more frustrating is that the only advice I keep getting from Samsung support is to contact the repair shop and explain. Sorry I didn't buy the phone from the repair shop, I bought it from Samsung. Either way the repair shop says that is how it is deal with it, I even had to pay 37 euros in total to get the phone back unrepaired for their "work" and shipping.

Samsung definitely needs to look into this repair shop (Conmodo) as on google it has horrific reviews. Do you really want a company like that representing you? When I saw the reviews at first I thought that people were simply being complacent, oh boy was I wrong.

Samsung, you could have had a life long customer and I probably would have also recommended your phones to my family as well. Unfortunately having a TRUE warranty for me is very important. Furthermore, when your authorised repair shop uses inconsequential damage on the phone as an excuse to void the whole warranty then that is a deal breaker for me. How can I ever buy a Samsung again knowing that this is the practice? Next time perhaps the CPU dies. What happens when the repair shop sees a scratch on the screen and says sorry we can't repair your phone there is a scratch on it?

Similar thing is happening to me right now. My screen went black while scrolling, next day I have sent phone to certified Samsung repair shop in Croatia (MR Service) and they refuse to change screen under warranty because of little marks on phone frame.

The same thing happened to me with my cell phone but I think you should just wait maybe maximum one week and see if it comes back on because my cell phone came back on magically after sending it to a repair shop many times after 4 days it came back on leaving the Wi-Fi and everything connected. The repair shop told me I need to fix the screen but I just found it weird that the screen will go bad just like that without any signals.

I bought a Samsung M31 on 1 August 2020 and from past 5 days I have been experiencing a spreading pink purple screen problem, we have taken it to the service center today morning and to our surprise they say its not covered under warranty. They are trying to convey their opinion saying its because of pressure on the screen which is utterly nonsense to me as i don't carry my phone in pockets and always keep it safe. And I strongly remember there is no case of dropping the phone as well, It all started with a small pink spot at the corner and slowly spreading like an ink all over the screen. I strongly deny your service centers perception of this problem and to be honest they haven't checked it for even a minute and asked to pay around 6000 rupees towards replacing the screen which is quite weird when its under warranty.

I am highly disappointed with the service centers way of handling the case and asking us to shell out the money to get this sorted when its under warranty. I dont want to take any further headaches on this matter actually this should be handled within yourselves , let me know before I go ahead and file a case against SAMSUNG in the consumer court.

My Galaxy Z flip 5G screen cracked down the fold of the phone, and the screen underneath and around the crack has gone dead. It looks like many other people have had the same issue, but the Samsung support center just continues to reply back to me that this constitutes damage to the phone so they can't repair it under warranty. I know I haven't damaged the screen at all, so surely this is a fault with the phone. How often does this happen?
