When nearing an airport, a red bar(s), often with a kink in one end, appear uncommanded. I have no idea of their function. Does anyone know what they are?

I'd show you a screenshot of the bars, but a screenshot does not capture them. Any idea about this?

Yes I believe those are showing nearby powerlines so that it's easier to avoid them.

Well, that was a quick response (!), and I suspect you are correct: the obstacle database in action. I'll look for the obstacles next time I see the red lines.

But, why aren't they captured by a screenshot?

I actually discovered this feature while viewing my Oudie N in a moving car.  When the red lines appeared I realized it was displaying the power lines nearby.  I had never heard of that feature. - Curt
