I'm sorry about this.  This person had a perfectly reasonable reason that "she" wanted to join the group.  It makes it impossible to know who is legitimate and who is going to send spam like this.  I'll block her and remove her from the group.  This issue is becoming waste of time.  I guess I'll need to stop approving new members and let someone else deal with it.  It's a bummer.

Best Regards,

Hello Neighbors
I’m getting my dryer vent cleaned soon and wanted to pass along a deal the technician, Robert, is offering. If three or more households book together, the price drops from the regular $249 to $149 per home.
I’ve already scheduled mine, so we just need a couple more neighbors to join in for the group rate. If you want in, just text/call or whats'app him at 202-703-0920  or send your address to join and mention my name. To avail the discount. He also does chimney cleaning service if you need

Thanks

Paul,

Why don’t you invite her to clean your chimney and when she’s inside, seal both ends? 😊.

For all that you do, this spam is a nit.

As someone that manages several Google groups as well as IO groups it is
impossible to tell if a person is legit if they use the right words.

To help counteract that I REQUIRED the applicant to explain why they want
to join.  If it doesn't ring true, or is blank, I don't approve the request.

Maybe I should ask for a "tail number" too!
