Hi all,   Navi Mumbai is been agressively promoted as "Clean and Green City". 'll like to share an important fact with you.   I do not know how many of us have observed this but I see this numerous times happening in Seawoods. The garbage van which comes to clean up our trash, sells the same stuff to some of the Bangaar waallas. During this course of activity one should see all mess happening around the Bangaar shop.   NMMC should keep an eye on these Garbage Van (Ghanta Ghadi) if they r working towards making Navi Mumbai a Clean city.   Regards. One more area I would like to highlight is the menace of barking dogs at night It goes on incessantly as a  chain from one dog to another , sometimes lasting the whole night!

I too share the concern as Narayan.  I think the menace has increased of late may be due to rainy season :-) Wonder if complaining to NMMC would help.  Can anybody give NMMC number for catching stray dogs?

Agreed , but there is hardly any monitoring by NMMC. On one occasion when my bldg garbage was not being collected for several days, I spoke to the waste mgt dept of NMMC only to be given a no. of the contractor. I bluntly protested with the NMMC official that it was not our job to follow up with contractors but theirs. They then took my details and promised  to levy a fine on the contractor for non-collection.  Within 5 mins the contractor's person called me up and said whenever there was a problem I shld contact him . I refused and said i will deal with NMMC and it was for them to make sure no failure of collection occured. Since then there has been no problem till now.
