Situated on the east side of Indian Head along Woodward Avenue, Jimmy Robison Field is host to many outdoor events including, baseball, softball, Slo-Pitch and much more. With four diamonds, a concession building with washrooms, playground, the venue has everything you need to host your event.
As home to the Indian Head Minor Ball program, the diamonds are a hub of activity in the spring and summer. In recent years, the baseball diamonds have seen numerous upgrades thanks to the generous support of the Jays Care Foundation and the Indian Head Minor Ball club.
Kellen Watson: For Xander, it was an effortless transition from Mavrik Triple Diamond / this ES. TD head gives him the versatility to hit several shots with proper spin rates shot windows.
Kellen Watson: Switching from the Triple Diamond to the Max LS allowed Shay to see tighter downrange dispersion. The Max LS has a more neutral start line and allowed him more of a one-sided miss.
Jacob Davidson: Jon likes to move the ball left to right. The TD LS gave him the start line he needed with the spin reduction needed to be based on his left/right shot shape, the LS in combination with the CSX also gives him the ability to hit it right/left without dipping too far down in spin.
It surprised many area high school football followers when Chris Williams resigned as the head coach of the Monrovia football team after the 2022 season. The popular and successful coach took a year off in 2023, but he is planning to be back on the sidelines in the fall, this time as the head coach at Diamond Ranch. He has accepted the position and his official hiring is pending school board approval.
Mike DiFiori is back as the defensive coordinator at Bishop Amat, where he enjoyed a lot of success under head coach Steve Hagerty. DiFiori, who was once the head football coach at Amat, was the defensive coordinator with the Lancers before leaving to become the defensive coordinator at Cal Lutheran, where he spent the past three seasons (2021-23).
Sean Koelle was the defensive coordinator this past season, but with DiFiori back Koelle will move to offensive coordinator. Koelle, an Amat graduate, was an assistant coach at Amat for 16 seasons before leaving to become the offensive coordinator at Servite for the 2021 and 2022 seasons. In those two seasons, the Friars had a lot of success with quarterback Noah Fifita, who is now playing for the University of Arizona.
Koelle returned to the Lancers as an assistant last season. Some view him as the eventual successor to Hagerty should he leave the school or step down and remain at the school as an athletic director.
The Nevada basketball team faced off with Georgia Tech in Sunday's final round of the Diamond Head Classic. The Wolf Pack came into this game winners of a statement victory over TCU. In that game, Nevada shot over 52 percent from the field and over 47 percent from deep. The performance marked one of Nevada basketball's top offensive performances of the season. So, could Nevada replicate that performance in a championship matchup versus Georgia Tech?
Well that answer was resounding yes as Jarod Lucas and Kenan Blackshear came to play in Nevada's 72-64 victory over Georgia Tech. The duo combined for 50 of Nevada's 72 points. Blackshear came through in the clutch during his 30-point performance. He scored 21 of his 30 points during the second half of play and helped Nevada close out a game that laid in the balance during the game's final moments.
The star-studded backcourt fully carried Nevada in its 72-64 win over Georgia Tech. Lucas carried over his breakout performance versus TCU into Nevada's matchup with the Yellow Jackets. Lucas continually knocked down perimeter shots en route to his 20-point performance.
Blackshear again proved why he is a contender for the Mountain West Player of the Year. Blackshear pulled through in the clutch time and time again in the game's final moments. Georgia Tech pulled within one late in the second half of this one. Momentum seemingly sided with the Yellow Jackets, quickly erasing a seven-point Nevada advantage. However, Blackshear provided a late spark thanks to some late-game heroics. The star guard once again proved to be a mismatch, as he continually knocked down mid-range jumpers and contested layups at the rim.
The team also called upon Blackshear to knock down some free throws at the end of the game, and Blackshear knocked down some clutch free throws to seal a Diamond Head Classic championship for the Wolf Pack.
For the second consecutive game, Nevada knocked down shots from deep. Until now, Nevada had been a team that largely struggled from deep. However, in this one, Nevada continued to find success from three.
Players like Hunter McIntosh, Lucas, and Nick Davidson made timely threes for Nevada. Lucas had one of his more efficient nights from deep. He shot 4-7 from beyond the arc. That element for the Nevada offense has helped it evolve into a more potent attack and should bode well heading into conference play.
Nevada followed up a strong defensive performance versus TCU with another stellar output versus Georgia Tech. The Wolf Pack held the Yellow Jackets to just 39 percent from the field and an even lower 23 percent from beyond the arc.
The return of K.J. Hymes certainly helped. Hymes had missed the previous two games due to a sickness on the islands. His return boosted the Nevada interior defense as he and Nevada racked up five blocks and four steals throughout the game.
Round head cylinder-shaped Diamond Sintered Burrs with a 2.35mm (3/32") shank. Sometimes referred to as Diamond Sintered Carving Points, these are perfect for engraving, carving and sculpting in glass, stone, ceramics and hard wood, plus grinding work in Lapidary and jewellery.
Due to the diamonds being sintered, they are extremely durable. Maintain their efficiency by occasionally cleaning the sintered burs with a dressing stone or aluminium oxide stick, use with water, letting the drill do the work and applying very little pressure.
New drivers receive all the hype at the beginning of the year, and for good reason: they are the most technology-packed clubs in the bag and the biggest investment for golfers. This year, Callaway is right there on technology with the new Paradym Ai Smoke lineup.
The big story is the Ai Smart Face with micro deflections for added ball speed and straighter ball flight. There is also a new 360-degree carbon chassis that is lighter and stronger than the previous model.
This head is aimed at the lower handicap golfer who is looking for lower spin, lower launch, and the ability to shape their shots. The shape is the most compact at address of the Ai Smoke drivers and the cleanest looking with the deletion of the chevron alignment mark on the top. The shape also looks to be a little shorter from heel to toe as well as from face to back. I like the forged carbon on the sole and love that no two drivers will ever look exactly the same.
Hitting the new Paradym Ai Smoke TD is a real pleasure as when I first hit it I thought it was louder than the previous Paradym. I was hitting indoors and the sound was greatly amplified because outdoors the TD has a very muted sound and nice soft feel. The new Ai Smart Face lets you feel the ball compress off the face when you strike it solid and the face overall just has a little softer feel than the Paradym.
Keeping the heavy weight in the back makes the TD a driver playable by a wider range of handicaps. The Ai Smart Face also kept the ball speed numbers extremely consistent no matter where the ball made contact. With how well I hit the Triple Diamond, I am now a little more confident it will perform on even a poor driving day!
Callaway has really brought some serious firepower to the driver game this year with the Ai Smoke models. There is the Triple Diamond for the player who needs lower spin and lower ball flight and the Max for the player who wants it all with added forgiveness. There are also two other models, Max D, and Max D Fast, for some added draw, higher launch, and lighter weight (Max D Fast). Overall, Callaway has a driver that should fit your swing!

The Utes got the ball back with a chance to tie or go ahead with 9.1 seconds, but USF's Matt McCarthy drew a charging call on Sedrick Barefield and Frankie Ferrari made the second of two free throws with 1.6 seconds left to stretch it to 89-86.
Utah: Junior forward Kyle Kuzma went down with an apparent lower leg injury less than a minute into the game and did not return. He was not seen on the bench after halftime. Kuzma had a string of five consecutive double-doubles broken. The 6-foot-9, 225-pound Flint, Michigan, native entered the contest averaging team highs of 16 points and 11.3 rebounds.
I arrived at the park and found my co-workers, in the dugout opposite our opponent: CHIRP Radio. My palms were sweaty, I was forcing myself to smile and make jokes. Through all this anxiety I was also supposed to show I could relax and be fun. I was able to settle in as more members of the team arrived and the more light-hearted atmosphere of Chicago softball was revealed. Even on a Monday night, 30 racks of beer were brought along, some players smoked a quick cigarette as a warm-up routine and no one looked particularly prepared for a game.
Despite my persistent nerves, some of the old feelings from my park-league days came rushing back to me: the feel of the evening breeze, the smell of the all-dirt field and the sight of the Chicago Skyline stood impressively just a few miles away.
The game started and, sure enough, the first batter drilled a ground ball right at me. Thankfully, all went as intended. My head cleared momentarily; I scooped the ball up without any issue; and made a solid throw to the first baseman, which was promptly dropped. Of course, the broken play was not at all my fault, but I instinctively began analyzing my throw: was it too high? Too fast? Could I have set my feet better for more even more accuracy? Was that play my fault?
