Seven boats in the fleet today. Breeze coming down the lake from WNW,
very shifty. First places went to Nev, Trev, Jim and Ian, who sailed
very well today and was able to flatten out his rig and had his boat
going great. Dave Liddle came up from Rotorua and Dave and Maurice
were fighting it out for the minor placings. Scott Turnbull with KZ1
started off well, but then had some gear failure and missed a few
races but came back later becoming competitive.

We carried through and finished at 2 pm. The four team boats
practiced starting and helped each other to get the best out of their
boats.

Another enjoyable sailing day in the N12s.

Well we had 9 boats last Saturday at Scarborough Park . The wind was
streaming Nor Easter all day. It only stops when Kiwis arrive. We got
into it, a new guy was sailing our Nautic 12 trainer and he is one of
the best novices I have seen in a while. He will be alright in no
time. In the first couple of races who led the way to the top mark but
had trouble after that but he will get better with practice. He will
get a Nautic and join the FRAY. I expect he will be leading the fleet
in no time. Gerry Brookes (KA3) got back from his o/seas work and
quickly got back into the fray again. He is back to clouting bouys
again but with a bit of practice should get better each race day.
