further to the above there will be 2 trophys on offer the nautic 12
winter series trophy and the Frank Linny winter series handicap

(to cover trophys} the sponsership covers vouchers $75 for first $50
second $25 third.the winner of the scratch series is inelagable for
first place prize in the handicap series.

my thoughts were to tie a bucket to the fastest boats! Seriously
though that is to be decided by the commitee before the event kicks of
entries will be notified at a later date of the handicapping system in
use

All sounds very good, more grist for the Mill ,perhaps races could be
picked at random finishing times noted and results used to set
handicap, that shouls avoid any pulling back from trying to finish as
best you can. Some times i think what you suggest re the bucket has
already happened to me.................Very good Rob.

funny u should mention the buckets. This happened for real to me during
the 1971 winter series at the kograbay yacht club in sydney. My father
and i raced a 27 footer(Tumlaren design called Svalen designe by Knud
Reimers) and this particular season were doing exceptionally well.We
went out to the boat before a race and as we were preparing to slip
our moring it was noticed that there was a line over the side on
further investigation it was discovered the line went under the keel
and was attached to the other side of the boat when we recovered the
line there was a bucket attached to hang below the keel. The boat yard
manager had designed and built what for the day was a fairly radicle
fin keeler that had the crew on trapizes he allso discovered buckets
attached to the bottem of the keel but unfortunatly for him it was
after the race when he slipped the boat to investigate why she had
sailed like a dog.
