Lovely day, sea breeze of about 7 knots. 8 boats in attendance with
very close racing. KZ19, KZ21 and KZ11 all had wins with the rest of
the fleet having close finishes as well.

The big news of the day ..... Frank Linney has sold his N12 KZ6
Excel to a long time friend of Jim Brown's who is an excellent RM
sailor by the name of Peter Ireland. He lives about 1-1/2 hours north
of Auckland at Mangawhai Heads and will be coming down to race with us
once a fortnight. He has already ordered a new set of Gerry Power
sails and got to grips with the boat and was very competitive today.

The New Zealand Nautic 12 Association would like to give a big
grateful thanks to Frank Linney for all the efforts he has put into
establishing the N12 in New Zealand and Australia. He is still going
to carry on sailing his RM when he feels able and will be keeping a
close eye on the N12 class.

With a vote of the members today Neville Beetson was elected President/
Treasurer; Bob Atkinson - Secretary; Rob McPherson - Publicity
Officer and a new member Trevor McFarlane, will take over the job as
class measurer.

The class here in Auckland is looking very strong with another new
boat coming in the water in the near future.

Nev , while you about it are you going to put all the latest news up,
including a price rise , to keep everyone informed and the
Manufacturers change of name, circumstances etc. Any additional
information we need to know. While I understand price rises are a way
of life these days, we need to know about them?

Has the retirement of Frank as President made any differences to how
the NZ NAUTIC 12s operate? In the general run of things. It seems to me
that nothing is happening , that conversation on this page has also
"dried up" as well.

I have had some inquiries by some people interested in SECOND HAND
NAUTIC 12s. If you know of any please contact me on Sydney Australia
02 9558 5674.

Reading your post on your regatta program sounds exciting. Whether
you get any takers from this side is not known at this stage.

Today there was only Bob, Robbie and Nev sailing - 3 of the others
were racing in the Northland 1 metre champs. We haven't seen Maurice
since we came back from Sydney as he has not been well, Trevor decided
to go fishing instead of sailing and Frank slept in!! so things are
relatively quiet here at the moment.

I have had a request from Alan Audsley so I will be getting in touch
with him tomorrow (Monday) on negotiating the purchase of either a new
boat or my existing boat.

Having beaut weather at present, not a cloud in the sky today!!
