Mainsail:
After discussions with Gerry Power, he has decided to have made new
cutting plates so that the seams on the N12 A rig mainsail can be
lowered. The seams now will be placed on the cross measurements on
the H and G and F measurement points. This will lower the seams on an
average of about 150mm on the existing sails, the bottom F measurement
being about 270mm lower than the existing seam position. This should
make for a much better setting sail. A new mainsail will be made and
trialled to see how it goes.
Rigs:
A few of the N12 skippers here in New Zealand are developing the
Vector rig which has been developed in the USA. The rigs here will be
slightly different with some own thinking going into its development.
The first mast will be trialled this weekend.
In a back post there is a link posted by Macca which will give you an
idea what the rigs look like.
So this is food for thought in trying to put a little bit more
development into the class within the existing rating rules.
