I at least abbreviate that you sometimes point to it. At lest when it has a feature that is kind of missing in kicad. (It is open source which means anybody can take that part of the code and create an eagle importer with it for any other system. Assuming the licenses of both projects are compatible.)

I personally hated eagle, (as well as kicad) I was forced to use it as a freelancer as thats what some of my clients used. Now I use Diptrace for schematic and pcb. if my clients dont like it, sorry, Im to old for this now, dont use me then

Yeah, but that has the downside that you then need to make >$49 out of selling those designs, or the license is bought for nothing - all the while somebody else could be using your OSHW design to make some random $. I think eagle would be worth the $49 if it had anything of real value more for me than the free version. I can live without selling my stuff, it is just a minor inconvenience - something I'd like to do if I could for ... max $10.(How about $99, Light featureset + 4 layers and 2 schema sheets, OSHW selling permitted?... One can dream...)

I love eagle, but the routing area limit is painfully annoying. I have a bunch of small boards that need to be combined and submitted as a single job. Does anybody know of a way to open and layout multiple gerber files onto a panel that doesn't cost hundreds of dollars like Eagle pro?

As far as i can tell freePCB is only a layout editor, right?Eagle has both schematic and layout, and i usually spend a couple of hours on the schematic, before i even start the layout. To me it also seems a lot easier to change pin assignments in a abstract schematic view, rather than in the layout directly.I would love to have an editor that allows me more than 2 layers, and i've been looking at kiCad, but so far if i just want to quickly build something, i always come back to eagle.

I use eagle and even though its not perfect and has become shitier over few years and now you have to buy it with fusion 360, Im thinking of switching to something else. Eagle has got the work done and I don't use fusion 360 at all, so, thoughts where should I migrate to, if i should migrate to? Money is not the point, just curious as to what you guys use and have been using for how long? O hage been using eagle for 6-7 years now

Looking for an older version of Sketchup, 2017 or older i guess (using 2020 now). Have some .eup files that needs to be imported and converted from an old project. These files where generated by Eagle Cadsoft (eCad software for printed circuit board). A script generated 3D files of the board which could be imported into Sketchup using a plugin called eagleUp_import.rbz which seems to be non existing in newer versions of sketchup. We need this to convert old projects into new form.

In Eagle CAD we have the CAM processor that takes care of these things, and luckily you can just load a pre-made CAM job file, that will instruct eagle how to output a complete set of gerber files. I have a custom made, voltlog CAM job file for 2 layer pcbs, Here is a link that you can use to download it.
