I have Win7-64 laptop, installed JDK, Eclise is working. I am failing to install the Android SDK. I downloaded 'adt-bundle-windows-x86_64-20131030' from developer.android. When I used SDK Manager, i could select required installation components and it shows as complete. However, I dont see anything in the 'All Programs'. I also dont see any plugin (that I was supposed to see) in the Eclipse as well. So I gather I am missing some step. Can anyone help. Pl see![][1]

The ADT bundle includes an Eclipse executable fully configured with the Android SDK tools. It does not add a plugin to an existing Eclipse install. To launch ADT/Eclipse goto . Search for eclipse.exe within that directory. This is the executable you need to launch.

On my Mac, the Eclipse executable is in /Applications/adt-bundle-mac-x86_64/eclipse/Eclipse.app/Contents/MacOS/eclipse. Just a guess, but on Windows, the path will probably look something like adt-bundle-windows-x86/eclipse/Eclipse.app/Contents/windows/eclipse.exe

For "I dont see anything in the 'All Programs' I also dont see any plugin" part you will not see any extra program installed in your system as adt is extension of eclipse. When you will have adt in place you should be able to see Android option in eclipse preferences. You should also be see Android APplication option while creating new project.

I ran into the same problem after installing the latest Windows x64 Eclipse ADT package (on 6/27/2014) from developer.android.com as recommended in the Ben's video. The root directory name of the compressed download was "adt-bundle-windows-x86_64-20140624". When I created a new project using the Master/Detail Flow template, only the *ListFragment.java file showed up in the src folder. None of the *Activity.java files were created. After spending a few hours trying to troubleshoot the issue (including all of the suggestions provided previously in this forum), I reverted back to the original Eclipse ADT package that was provided by TeamTreeHouse in the Crystal Ball tutorial section. By going back to this, I was able to follow along with the BlogPost tutorial. Hopefully someone can figure out what's going on with the latest Eclipse ADT bundle from Android.

Hi Ben. Thanks for the reply.I am on Window 7.I first installed the Android tools from Treehouse as part of the Crystal Ball project, but then re-installed the tools from the Android Developer site. I downloaded version adt-bundle-windows-x86_64-20131030. I have both sets of tools installed in separate directories. After running the Android SDK Manager, it reports that Ive got the Android SDK Tools at 22.6. I also installed every previous version from 17 on. When I check the Eclipse version using File>Help>About ADT it reports Android Developer Tools Build v22.3.0-887826. When creating the project I selected API 11: Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) as directed in the video. I also tried a few other combinations of Min SDK and Target SDK, but always with the same error.

Ok I solved it. Here is what I did, I completely uninstalled my eclipse, including the metadata and .eclipse file. Then I downloaded the package from google, opened eclipse as admin, and NOT download or update anything from SDK manager this time. the master flow is working now. My guess is that, it's because last time I rushed to downloading everything available from SDK manager right after I got eclipse running, and there might be some buggy file out there, which has caused the problem.

In eclipse, under help I tried "Installing new software" and attempted to manually install the updates for the tools and plugins, but after I clicked finished I received an error stating "No repository was found". I'm now going to attempt what Mr/s.Liu has suggested instead.

The Ubuntu package manager does not currently offer an Eclipse 3.6 version for download, so we recommend that you download Eclipse from eclipse.org ( downloads/). A Java or RCP version of Eclipse is recommended. Follow the steps given in previous sections to install the SDK and the ADT plugin. Information for other platforms.

Another Download the SDK ADT Bundle for Windows button is enabled. Click the button to save the adt-bundle-windows-x86-YYYYMMDD.zip (32-bit) or adt-bundle-windows-x86_64-YYYYMMDD.zip (64-bit) file to your PC. Where YYYYMMDD is the release date for the package. E.g. adt-bundle-windows-x86-20130717.zip is the 32-bit ADT Android bundle released on July 17th 2013.

To access the App development environment quickly add a shortcut to your PC desktop. Using Windows Explorer open the eclipse directory in the extracted contents. Bring up the context menu (usually right-click) on the eclipse.exe program and select Create shortcut. Drag and drop (move) the new shortcut onto the desktop.

The ADT Android Bundle is now installed. Run the eclipse.exe program (you can use the shortcut if you created one). First time in you will be asked to contribute usage statistics to Google. Select Yes or No and press the Finish button.

I follow this guide Google Plugin for Eclipse 4.6 (Neon) Installation Instructions URL: https: //developers.google.com /eclipse/docs/install-eclipse-4.6 but this error occured "This version of the rendering library is more recent than your version of ADT plug-in. Please update ADT plug-in"
It does not support API 24 (Android 7.0) and API 23 (Android 6.0)

So this lets you build android apps using Eclipse? because i heard that eclipse no longer supports ADT you would have to use Android Studio but if this works i am def going to install it. But first, does this work with eclipse still??

Hello, so i am just wondering if you actually got ADT working through eclipse? i know that neon 4.6 version lets you install an IDE FOR ANDROID DEVELOPERS. but let me know if you found out how to even develop android apps through Eclipse IDE?

To install some or all of the Eclipse tools, get an installation compatible with the desired tools and use the respective software site URL in the Help > Install New Software wizard. Based on the version of your eclipse:
