I am trying to use submissions we get from forms in DOMO via form viewer/builder apps and turn them into usable datasets that we can create cards with. Right now the form submission data puts the label in one column and the value in another and I would like to make it where the data looks like this:

In the lower section, you will tell it what to look for an what to call it. In section 4, enter in the name of the field that you want to pivot exactly as it was entered in your form builder (including capitalization and punctuation.) For example, if you had a question in your form that said , "How many years of experience do you have?", you would need to enter that exact text in section 4. In section 3, you assign what name you want to give it as a column heading. I make 3 & 4 the same so there is no confusion as to what question it represents. Here is what some of mine look like.

@MarkSnodgrass Hey Mark another question on form builder/viewer. When I submit a form through formbuilder the response dataset populates with the submission, but it seems that the form viewer does not have working submissions. What would be the issue here?

@gbrown if you are talking about viewing past submissions within the form viewer app, you have to configure that in the form builder configuration. In Form Builder, click on the 3 dots next to your form and click Edit. Then select "Allow previous submissions to be viewed". You can also allow previous submissions to be edited or deleted. If you don't see these options, that means you are on an earlier version of Form Builder and you will need to install the new version. Unfortunately, this requires you to recreate your forms as I haven't found a way to migrate them over from the old version to the new version.

I would check in your data center to see if there is another responses dataset with a very similar name. Depending on how your form viewer was created, you can have multiple response datasets. It's possible the other user's entries are going in that other dataset. You can merge them together using the Append tile in Magic ETL.

I have not experienced that issue. If you can replicate the issue with the user, I would do a screen recording of them submitting the form and then show that the dataset still doesn't show the submission and then sending that recording to Domo support as a ticket.

@MarkSnodgrass I was able to locate the dataset. It had something to do with permissions. One last question...Does Forms in DOMO have a barcode scanning capability or QR Code implementation similar to google forms? Thanks

A message site is an object that implements the IMAPIMessageSite : IUnknown interface and assists form servers with tasks such as moving, saving, or deleting messages, creating new messages, or launching new form servers. Message sites are used by forms to get information about your client's status with respect to various service providers. For example, a form can use your message site to get a pointer to your current message store, a message, or a folder.

The methods that provide information to form objects are straightforward to implement. In all cases except IMAPIMessageSite::GetSiteStatus, you should already have available the information required by each method.

The methods that manipulate messages should act as if they had been triggered through your regular user interface. For example, if a form object calls your IMAPIMessageSite::NewMessage method, behave as if the user had chosen to compose a new custom message with your regular user interface. Commands which typically generate this behavior are Compose, Open, Reply, Reply to All Recipients, and Forward.

A view context is an object that implements the IMAPIViewContext : IUnknown interface and provides form servers with a context for the current message, allowing servers to easily switch to the next or previous message in the folder. A form uses a view context for sharing information. With a view context object, a form can:

A view advise sink is an object that implements the IMAPIViewAdviseSink : IUnknown interface and handles notifications from form servers that affect your viewer and help forms and form viewers to work together. For more information, see Sending and Receiving Form Notifications.

Overview: As part of the Forms Content Management Program (FCMP), the Army Publishing Directorate (APD) has selected the PureEdge Viewer as a replacement for FormFlow Filler and as the new Army standard for electronic forms software. FCMP provides the Army with an enterprise-wide license for the PureEdge Viewer 6.5. This agreement covers all Active Army (military, civilian and contractors), Army Reserves, Army National Guard Bureau, and any Government or civilian users conducting official Army business. FormFlow Filler will continue to be available to users until such time as the inventory of Army forms has been converted to the new PureEdge format.

The entire forms library (which can currently be accessed today on the APD website, and the AKO and Army Home Pages) is being converted to PureEdge and the converted forms will be added to the library as they become available. In addition, once the DD forms are converted, the files will be provided to the DoD forms manager for posting on the DOD website. APD will continue to make non-fillable PDF files available. Once the full inventory of Pure Edge forms is available in the forms library APD will announce a transition period of 6 months for The Army to fully install and implement the PureEdge forms and technology. After the transition period, APD will remove FormFlow and FormFlow 99 formats from the forms library currently being accessed on the APD website, and the AKO and Army Home Pages. Pure Edge will be the only product for which APD will provide technical support.

The PureEdge Viewer 6.5 allows users to view, fill, digitally sign, save, submit, and print e-forms. The Viewer is a lightweight client that can run either as an extension to the user's web browser or as a standalone executable.

Problems or Questions with Forms: Please contact the Army Publishing Directorate at , efo...@hqda.army.mil or call the Army Publishing Directorate help desk at (703) 428-0545 for any technical issues or questions that you may have in regards to the use of EForms.

I'm having an issue with my form viewer and the loading of default information on my data cards. This occurs occasionally, especially when first opening the app or after creating a new entry, when I select an item to view from my gallery and am navigated to the item's form viewer. In the form some items are displaying correctly while others are appearing blank. If I go out of the screen and back into the gallery it does not change or load. However if I go back out into the gallery, select a different item, go back out again and select the item that was not displaying information it begins to display again. Cutting and re-pasting the default text of the data card also works to get the default value.

This seems like an issue with loading information but I am unable to refresh/reset un-editable fields like in form viewers. Is there some sort of solution to this so this loading issue does not occur?

hi, when you select an item from the gallery, add Set(var_Selected_Item, ThisItem) to the OnSelect code. then change your form items to var_Selected_Item. your then control the from mode by using EditForm(Form1) or NewForm(Form2) ViewForm(Form).

Hi thank you, I tried the variable but the problem still persists. random entries have datacards that are filled both in the datasource and in the edit form, but do not appear on the form viewer until it is refreshed.

If the gallery collection itself does not contain the values you would like to show in the form then it will not work. the gallery should be tied to a database, when you save the form the database is updated and therefore the gallery is updated. if something is missing then its either not making its way from the datasource to a local collection or it isn't saving in the data source.

My gallery is set up correctly, the info is saving and its making its way in. The problem lies in that it is inconsistently appearing as the default value, it only appears the 2nd time I refresh my form.
