New Speak activity and Sugarlabs updates

There is a great new version of Speak, which has a chat built in to it. Start Speak and then share with neighbourhood. Others join from neighbourhood. Now select “Chat” and can type in something and it displays both as text AND it speaks the phrase on the other computers – audio chat with the Speak robot!

 

It is very useful in  getting children to type phrases and sentences and it’s great fun. This simply HAS to be good for literacy.

 

Get it at the link below and put it on a flash drive or the server and browse to it on the XOs.

Remember you can update any activities online from control panel, or from the sugarlabs site (they are now separate fom OLPC)
