Hey guys. Im on a Windows 10 PRO. when i go on chrome and go on the official website and download the exe to setup adwcleaner. i am able do download it and it goes in my download folder and when i open it it gives me the "do you allow this app to make changes" and then nothing happens. ive downloader the malwarebytes rootkit. hitman pro, roguekiller and malwarebytes and i scanned my pc, downloaded all the files they said was malware. i restarted my pc several times, downloaded it from several browsers. nothing works. what do i do.

Hello, first time posting so please excuse any formatting mistakes.

So somehow I got segurazo today, managed to remove most of it thanks to jumping into paranoia mode as soon as i saw something. Managed to remove facemoods and conduit as well which had been bothering me for a long time. All these thanks to adwcleaner 8 and Malwarebytes. Now there is this persistent chrome extension showing up in adwcleaner classified as a PUP.Optional.Legacy but i can't find it anywhere and when i quarantine it, it shows up again every time i launch chrome. Attached is my latest AdwCleaner scan log. It seems to be a chromium derivative but i can't seem to find any traces of chromium left-overs from today's blunder.

i think you can close down the thread, it was also worth mentioning i was using adwcleaner this entire time and not malwarebytes so i guess this solution works for all the products. Thanks for the quick reply! ?

"Do I need AdwCleaner and MB-Premium?", I wondered. I perused malwarebytes.com, including a search of the site using a couple of different search terms (no luck), and then registered for this forum to see if I could find the answer here.

hi so I just downloaded adwcleaner and run a scan on my asus laptop. It detected some of the preinstalled software (ASUSDeviceActivation, ASUSGiftBox, ASUSHello, ASUSLiveUpdate, ASUSProductRegistration) when it restarted, I did a rescan and 1 software element still remain. I rescan and restarted a few times but every time I rescan after restarting, it still doesn't removed it.
