Hi Pineys,

Let's get together Sunday at 12:45 pm for practice/post-Sectionals-debriefing/Beaufort planning. This will give us a good solid hour and a half before pickup players start trickling in.

Please try to come! Esp. if you plan to be joining us at Beaufort. The attend-at-least-one-preferably-more-practices rule will be in effect for Beaufort. This is a very popular tournament!

Right. The Beaufort tournament (Backstreet Invitational) is November 5/6. It's in Beaufort (duh). And it's a ton of fun. And the organizers really appreciate the spirit we bring to the tournament. And the BBQ is amazing.

Please let me know if you're planning to come Sunday (and also if you're interested in Beaufort).

"I just wanted to give all past Backstreet Invitational captains a heads-up regarding this year's tourney date of November 5-6, 2011, to be held at the same great fields (Freedom Park) in Beaufort, NC.  As in the past, we're planning to have our catered pigpickin' from Roland's Barbecue (w/veggie options) on Saturday evening, plus some great music at the Backstreet Pub (our major sponsor) afterwards.  The registration fee covers the grub and some brew Saturday night, team goody box during the day, and pizzas on the fields Sunday.  We also usually have a pasta dinner of sorts on Friday evening for folks in town.

Format:  5/2 or 4/3, offense dictates; 8 mixed teams

Registration:  $250 per team

Deposit:  $50 due by 10/15/2011  (full fee due by 10/31/2011)

**Early bird registration discount of $25 if your team is registered by 9/30/2011**

(checks can be made to Lookout Ultimate and sent to 603 Mandy Ct, Morehead City, NC  28557)

A couple things new for this year:

1)  Pig on the fields:  Instead of having the Saturday night pigpickin' at the pub, we're going to have it delivered to the fields this year -- that way, folks can fuel up as soon as play is over for the day, without having to hang around until we get things set up at the pub.  Logistically, we figured this would work better -- folks w/kids aren't waiting around for food, and everyone will have a bit more time to clean up (if they want) before heading to the pub for beer and tunes.  

2)  Lodging option:  The Hampton Inn & Suites in Atlantic Beach asked if they could set aside a block of rooms for tourney participants (!!!!).  These are suites with 2 queen size beds, plus a living area w/pullout sofa and a kitchenette, continental breakfast in the lobby, etc.  They are holding a block of 15 rooms for the rate of $72/night plus tax.  Not bad if you stuff 6 people in the room.  Please call 252-247-5118 and ask for the rooms in the "Lookout Ultimate" block if interested. "
