Alongsidethe security of this server, you also have all the best aspects of a fun and thriving multiplayer experience, including everything from creative mode to PvP modes, and even an easier survival mode for those younger players. This mode plays out a little more like the best life games, allowing you to peacefully spend your time in a job, such as a farmer, in order to earn money to spend at the mall. On the other side of the coin though, a spectacular hard mode respawns you in a random location every time you die, so there really is something for every Minecraft player in The Sandlot.

In trying to help my son troubleshoot a Minecraft issue, I installed the app on my phone as a test case. I've never really played Minecraft, never had it on my phone, etc. - it's a clean install. We both use Android devices.

The issue we're facing is that we can't connect to the Featured Servers shown in the app. This feature apparently used to work. It does work on my phone if I turn off Wi-Fi and use my mobile network (and similarly, if I set up my phone as a hotspot and let my son connect his tablet). So at least I know it's an issue related to the router and/or my ISP. Having just factory reset the router about a month ago, I figured maybe I had missed a setting and inadvertently caused a problem. But for the life of me, I can't figure out what I might have done that's causing this problem.

Even more curious, while I was toggling various Orbi settings and applying them, if I tried the Minecraft featured servers at just the right time during the minute or so when the router was applying new settings, it would work. Just for a moment, though. Something going on during that settings refresh allows it to work, but by the time the router finishes applying the settings it's blocked again. But that also tells me it's the router, not my ISP.

What I don't get is why parental controls are getting in the way at all, especially on my phone, which is part of the default "Home" group and has no controls/limits/etc. turned on. I even tried adding it to the Always On group, but no dice. The only way I've found for Minecraft on Android to work properly is to disable the parental controls.

I wish there was some more granular features to the SPC app in Orbi app however it's mostly controlling what connects, can connect and at certain time frames. Seems to be all or nothing with no "hey, allow these certain" domains and such kind of configuration. Would be more helpful in these cases.

That's what's infuriating about it. I don't have any sort of content/site/age/etc. filters turned on for any users. I literally just use the scheduling feature to turn off Wi-Fi for my kids around bedtime so they don't try to stay online too late and so that I don't have to remember to do it. So even though I'm not telling SPC to block any sites/services/etc., it's still clearly blocking something.

a program I'm writing for someone needs to be able to tell whether a Minecraft server is online or not. It would also be great if it could tell how many players or what players are online. I'm not sure how the Minecraft servers work in that sense so I'm not sure how to go about doing this. If you want the specific IP for it you can message me although Im not sure if Im allowed to post it publicly here.

I've encountered a frustrating issue that I hope you can help me with. I'm in the process of setting up a Minecraft server for me and my friends to enjoy, but I've hit a snag with the port forwarding. Despite following all the steps I could find online, minecraft server port forwarding is not working on my end.
