Supplying absolute position and velocity data to your programmable controller, the single slot 7951 & 7952 Linear Displacement Transducer interface modules are a direct interface between most major brands of LDTs and the GE 90-70 I/O chassis. The 7961 will interface to any sensor that outputs up to 32 bits of SSI data.
The 7951 & 7952 are fully programmable from the sealed keyboard and display or through the backplane, and offer programmable position resolution down to one thousandth of an inch, with transducer lengths under one hundred inches. Additional programmable features include: position preset, count direction, and transducer type.
By combining all electronics into one easily installed plug-in module, these single slot products eliminate the hassles associated with interfacing stand alone controllers and /or interfaces to Programmable Logic Controllers. Customers choose AMCI control solutions with confidence, knowing that we have over 20 years of experience in the design, development, and manufacturing of modules for General Electric PLCs.
AMCI products are uniquely designed to provide the best PLC integration available. Unlike other products that require a separate software package for configuration or operation, AMCI's PLC-based products are programmed using your PLC's software - nothing new to buy or learn!
Our expertise with the leading PLC manufacturers (e.g. Allen-Bradley Schneider, GE, etc) is unmatched when it comes to high performance Specialty I/O, Position Sensing, and Motion Control technology.
What is the difference between two? And if I did a training course on a 90-30, as those are the only ones I can seem to find, would that be suitable for working on a 90-70 as it is th esame software etc.
They are both obsolete. Both were introduced in 1990. The 90-30 is similar in size and capability to the SLC 500. The 90-70 compares to the PLC5. If you are already familiar with the basic concepts of PLCs you should not have great difficulty learning your way around the GE 90 series. Just try not to get frustrated when the things you are accustomed to doing under RS Logix have to be done differently under Proficy Machine Edition.
The GE-Emerson IC697ACC701 Series 90-70 Lithium Battery is designed with a programmable logic controller for industrial computers. The battery has a 10-year shelf life, owing to its low discharge rate, and has a capacity of 1,400 mAh. The wire lead connector contacts stabilize voltage at a broad temperature range of -40 to 176F. No tools are required for installation, and the battery is compatible with the GE Fanuc 90-70 Series, the GE Fanuc CPU 771, and the GE Fanuc 772. The battery offers a 250mA pulse current with a 15mA continuous current during use.
The IC697CPU772 module is a CPU module which is compatible with Series 90-70 programmable logic controllers from GE Fanuc. The Series 90-70 product line is a family of PLCs and PLC components which provide a full-function controller that is easy to configure and install in any system. The Series 90-70 PLCs are designed to be compatible with other PLCs which form part of the larger GE Fanuc Series 90 PLC family. The Series 90-70 line includes a large number of different PLC system components including CPU modules, racks. I/O systems, power supplies, Genius I/O, and numerous optional modules. The architecture of the CPU modules is based on the Intel 80X86 or 80X86DX processor. The IC697CPU772 module uses an 80C186 microprocessor with a 12 Megahertz system clock.
The IC697CPU772 module takes up one slot in the PLC rack. Floating point operations are supported on the CPU module. The system memory is expandable because 64, 128, 256, and 512 KB CMOS expansion memory modules can be installed on the IC697CPU772 module. A replaceable system battery provides backup power to the program and data memory in case the system power is removed. The old battery must be removed before the replacement battery is installed. The current required by the IC697CPU772 module from the 5 Volts DC bus is 1.2 Amps. This current requirement includes the current consumed by the expansion memory. The IC697CPU772 module is configured through either MS-DOS or Microsoft Windows based programming tools. To ensure there are no deviations from the programmed configuration, the CPU verifies the actual configuration at boot-up and periodically during system operation. The integrated serial port can be used to interface with a serial programmer.

GE Fanuc uses industry standards, such as Ethernet TCP/IP for the Series 90-30 family. The Ethernet interface allows you to attach the Series 90-30 PLC directly to an Ethernet LAN and upload or download Ladder Logic. In addition, data can be transferred between PLCs and PCs simultaneously. Access can also be handled over the Internet. The Series 90-30 is suited for applications requiring as little as 32 I/O or as much as 4,000 I/O. Remote I/O is handled easily using industry standards like Genius Bus, World FIP, Profibus-DP , Interbus-S, LonWorks, DeviceNet, or SDS. To ensure that the Series 90-30 PLC provides a full range of application solutions, GE-Fanuc works closely with third-party manufacturers of peripherals, modules, and software packages to provide complex automation solutions. Application tools are available for redundancy, Sequence of Event Recording, injection molding, chemical delivery, and much more. GE Fanuc also offers a full line of Operator Interfaces, Human Machine Interfaces, Motion Control products, and various integration services. In addition, the Series 90-30 integrates easily with Fuji Variable Frequency Drives, Fanuc Motor Control Centers, and other automation products.
The Series 90-70 family of controllers is designed to meet the most complex applications, such as advanced batch processing, triple modular redundancy, high speed processing, and applications requiring large amounts of I/O and memory. All Fanuc 90-70 PLCs are Intel-based processors and employ the VME bus standard. This allows a wide variety of VME boards, from approximately 300 manufacturers, to easily integrate into the Series 90-70 backplane. The Series 90-70 also offers a wide range of hot standby and triple modular redundancy options.
GE Fanuc Field Control I/O The Open Architecture Solution to Distributed I/O and Control, Field Control I/O offers distributed I/O and control in a single, low cost, modular product. Field Control's design produces significant increases in speed while freeing up panel space and cutting panel wiring by almost 50 percent. Each station of a Field Control network can act as a stand-alone controller. The Terminal Block I/O system can accept field wiring and condition the signals for inputs or outputs from the control system Supports the Genius bus and a variety of other fieldbusses including DeviceNet, Interbus-S and Profibus-DP and others Bus Interface Units (BIUs) can be removed and replaced without removing the wiring or reconfiguring the I/O station.
Having made all of these system determinations, the engineer can now proceed to CPU selection. Series 90-70 CPUs have many options available, such as memory size, speed, performance, and even enhanced software options. They all have TOD (time of day) clocks and are password protected, and all (except CPU731) have keylock protection. All of the CPUs available (except CPU731) have floating point math capabilities, enabling decimal point calculations and the use of trigonometric, logarithmic, exponential, and radian conversion factors. The highest performance CPUs available in the Series 90-70 use the state-of-the-art 486DX4 microprocessor, with redundant operations capability. The CPM790 is programmed with software for use in Emergency Shut Down (ESD), fire and gas, and other critical control operations, Comparing the various CPUs is easy with the following table:
Kawanishi Automation private limited has acquired the complete 90-70 product line from GE IP! We have purchased the last remaining inventory from GE on all 90-70 New PLC parts and have plenty of parts in stock today to keep your 90-70 systems running.
