Dear WA dancers and dance educators,

 

Thank you for welcoming Dhruti Patel this last month.

 

Please join me in wholeheartedly welcoming the amazing Vidya Sekhar. Here is a little blurb of introduction about her.

 

I have lived here quietly for the past 5 years, enjoying all kinds of adventures from sailing to fishing to hiking and of course the bar scene.

In attending various cultural events and getting to know some of the people in our Indian and Asian community here, I have realized that this is an enlightened community. People are collaborative, loving, thinking and patient with others. Particularly since I have had to adjust to and accept that I am growing disabled, I was afraid to step out, but now that I am getting to know the various artists, I am so thrilled and motivated to share and grow with our world-class community of musicians, dancers and visual and performing artists.

You are all invited to my student Megana Kodati's arangetram next week.  June 29th at 4 PM at the IKEA Renton Hall.  Seating starts at 3.30 pm.  Live orchestra coming to accompany from Bangalore :)
 
It is a fun show and the final item is a Kuchipudi dance taught by Guru Pasumarthy Master.

Thank you so much for the warm welcome... and infinite thanks to you darling Joyce for inviting me to this tenderly connected dance community. I am so excited to be part of all of you and I have already been enjoying the quality shows being presented by some of you, since I started stepping out a few months ago. I am doing cartwheels in my heart to be part of this amazing network of creative artists.
 
I am looking forward to Meghana's arangetram this weekend. Best wishes!! I am sure it will be outstanding.

Welcome Vidya and Dhruti.  Nice to see so many more dancers in our community.  It would be lovely to meet you all sometime and if possible also do a retreat where we all discuss just dance.

As we are doing introductions, this has been long overdue. It is my pleasure to introduce Archana Srinivasan who is  a senior disciple of my guru Padmashree Chitra Vishweswaran . I have cc'd her on the mail.  She is a national scholarship holder and is a wonderful dancer. She has also been pretty active in the Pratidhwani scene. So some of you might already know her.

Tanjavur Dance School is presenting two Arangetrams in the month of July this year.
All of you are invited to grace the occasion and bless my students.
 
 
Arangetram of Isha Saraf and Manasvi Karia
Date: July 13th
Venue: Kirkland Performance Arts Center
Time: 3.30 pm
We will present Marathi, Hindi and Gujarati items.
 
Arangetram of Reksha Ratnam
Date: July14th
Venue: Interlake High School, Bellevue
Time: 3.00pm
We will present Tamil, Hindi and telugu items.
 
For  both the arangetrams we are going to have professional artists from Bangalore to accompany the dancers.
