Nudist Beaches: East Coast Of England

Nudist beaches posted to a web site I found:

New Beach : Essex
Essex: St Osyth Clacton-on-Sea St Osyth beach is on the north shore of
the Colne branch of the Blackwater estuary. The shoreline is sand or
shingle in some parts, tending to estuary mud in others. Bathing at
nearby Brightlingsea is said to be dangerous, so caution is required.
The far end of the naturist beach is fenced off and is a Nature
Reserve. St. Osyth lies south of the B1027 road from Colchester to
Clacton-on-Sea. Proceeding from Clacton, go west on the B1027 from its
junction with the A133 for just over two miles and take a minor road on
the left signposted 'St. Osyth'. Head due south from St Osyth - Beach
Road and to the end of the road in Hutley's Caravan Park. This reaches
a dead end at the seawall with a car park pub and cafe just on the left
. From there go over sea wall on to the beach or through gate in wall
during day time, turn right and walk one mile to reach the naturist
beach.

New Beach : Norfolk
Norfolk: Winterton Dunes / Horsey, N. of Great Yarmouth. A large area
of dunes and clean, sandy beach with ample space for all and lots of
scope for walking. Suitable for couples and singles and possibly
families with children but don't expect to go paddling nude. As with
most beaches along the East Coast, an onshore wind from the North Sea
can be a problem, so windbreaks are recommended. The beach is also a
major RSPB reserve so don't leave litter and take great care where you
walk as the Terns breed on the beach. From Great Yarmouth travel north
on the A149 past Caister-on-Sea (ignore the turning for the A1064 at
West Caister). About 1 mile further on, where the road turns sharply
left, leave the A149 and continue north on the B1159 towards
Winterton-on-Sea. This is two and half miles further on, after passing
Newport and Hemsby. At Winterton continue northward until the road
turns inland at the church. At this point turn toward the sea (right),
along the road beyond where it narrows and past a Spar shop. Eventually
you will reach the car park. Leaving the car walk east to the seashore
and turn northwards. Either cut down to the sea and walk along, or walk
behind the dunes, for approximately 10-15 mins. Naturist use begins
just beyond the point at which erosion has exposed a concrete base.

New Beach : Norfolk
Norfolk: Waxham, N. of Horsey -

New Beach : Norfolk
Norfolk: Holkham Bay E. of Wells-next-the-Sea. This is an extensive,
wide and sandy beach with dunes and woods behind and a nature reserve
nearby. The sand is very fine indeed and full of shells. It is well
worth going nearer the sea, but you'll need a wind break. The beach is
a typical windswept north anglia beach, which means there is a constant
breeze. Good for families nearer the sea, choose your spot nearer the
dunes. The beach is patrolled by Police and Wardens from time to time
to PROTECT the naturists. There are posts across from the trees behind
to the beach itself announcing the Naturist area but these signs do say
that naturism is not to be practised in the dunes but only on the
beach!

New Beach : Lincolnshire
Lincolnshire: Saltfleetby Dunes / Theddlethorpe, N. of Mablethorpe

New Beach : Lincolnshire
Lincolnshire: Northcotes, S. of Cleethorpes

New Beach : Lincolnshire
Lincolnshire: Easington N. of Spurn Head

New Beach : Yorkshire
Yorkshire: Fraisthorpe Sands South of Bridlington. This is a sandy
beach with low clay cliffs behind, which offer shelter from the wind.
Clean sand, with pools around the bases of old anti-invasion defences.
Good swimming and ideal for children. From Bridlington take the A165
southwards until you reach Fraisthorpe in about three and a half miles.
Go left through the village and find your way to Auburn Farm. There is
an unmetalled lane which leads to a car park. Walk from here to the
shore and then turn right and walk southwards until you reach a stream
- Earl's Dyke. The nude beach starts here and extends for a restricted
two hundred and fifty metres, bounded on both sides by textile beach
users.

New Beach : Yorkshire
Yorkshire: Cayton Bay (Johnny Flinton's), South of Scarborough

New Beach : Northumbria
Northumbria: Druridge Bay, S.of Amble. A shallow, therefore wide at low
tide, sandy beach with dunes behind clean golden sand and unpolluted,
but chilly, sea. The beach is private land however and Mr Derek Denny,
Chairman of SANER contacted the landowner and was assured that
naturists could use the section from the Chevington burn, south to the
mid point between the Chevington burn and the National Trust area as a
naturist beach, but he did not want it made an official beach. Please
stay within this area and DO NOT cross over the Chevington burn naked
into the Country Park. Travelling north or south on the A1068, turn
east on to the minor road at Widdrington towards Duridge. At the point
where this road takes a sharp right down the coast, turn left into the
National Trust Car Park. Go as far as you can north and park. You can
go onto the beach here and walk north until you see the Chevington burn
crossing the beach, or go through the gate and follow the path, bearing
left until you come to another gate leading on to a tarmac road. Follow
this road north until you come to a gate. Take the gate into the field
on your right but beware of cows and follow fence on left, remembering
to shut the gate behind you. You will need to cross this fence at a low
point ) and proceed along the burn to the beach.

New Beach : Northumbria
Northumbria: Ross Back Sands, Belford, N. of Bamburgh. A long sandy
beach with dunes behind and said to be "surprisingly deserted even at
weekends" . Clean, golden sand and an unpolluted, but chilly, sea.
Quite frankly this is a delectable spot for naturists. Lack of access
at either north or south ends of the beach gives seclusion and few, if
any, passers-by.

New Beach : Northumbria
Northumbria: Cheswick Black Rocks, Goswick, S. of Berwick

Question : lincs beaches
Mel/Adam........have you been to any of the lincolnshire beaches? I
didn't know there were any naturist beaches in the area! You're a mine
of information you two. Tig x - ( No we haven't been to any there, we
may try this year though, weather and work permitting ;-)-Luv Mel xxx)

Update : Fraisethorpe
Hi all East Coast nudies! Update on Fraisethorpe: Recent police
attention now declined especially in the face of a lot of complaits
from naturist beach users; so continue to use this beach as much as
possible.

cliff). i like a bit of a natter and some company, this was well
off-putting. have yet to try mumby, maybe give it a go next week.

Update : Latest on Fraisethorpe (near Bridlington)
Desoite the dismal summer (2004) the clarification brought about by the
new Sexual Offences Act (after the potential difficulties of it's
initial form were removed as a result of an unprecedented national
lobby by the whole Naturist-Nudist movement, for once pulling
together!) a good workingh relationship has been developed with the
local police. They are now fully accepting of the legitimacy of
naturist use of establishged venues and indeed confirmed this stance to
other public bodies and individuals contacting them. As a result
naturists are increasingly becoming confident again, in the use of this
beach. Ryedale Naturist Club held several events there and it was
evgfident that by the end of the summer numbers of beach users were
increasing. We all look forward to a better summer next year and for
the numbers to gradually rdeturn to the hey-day of the mid nineties. I
would again caution against overt sexual activity on the beach and if
you must indulge, to keep to the 'out-of-the-way' area around the beck.
Please note that while the police are supportive of nudity on the beach
they will act if any criminal activity is reported to them. You take
your chance! Any enquiries via my new e-mail address (now changed from
my previous as detailed above) ot tel: 01653-697823. John Wymark-Hoar.
