Nudist Beaches: Yorkshire, England

Bridlington: Fraisethorpe
Classification: Unofficial
Directions: Follow A165, south from Bridlington Town centre for 2½
miles to sign on left for Fraisethorpe Beach. Follow metalled single
lane track to the beach. The section used by naturists is approximately
400 yds south of the track
Map: Ordnance Survey Map reference: TA170619
Parking: Parking is available at Auburn Farm.
Facilities: Lavatory (for use of Caravan Site users) available at
Auburn Farm (out buildings adjacent to road).
Warning: Can be windy (wind break recommended). Access along the beach
is an easy if tedious walk. Remember that this is the North Sea and
that the water can take a while to warm up. NB: The East Riding of
Yorkshire County Council have erected signs forbidding Naturism at
Fraisethorpe. These signs are of dubious legality, are not enforced by
the Police and no civil action has been taken against the regular
naturist users of the beach who are not intimidated.

Northumberland: Druridge Bay
Classification: Unofficial, Clothing optional/Tolerated
Directions: Walk North from National Trust Car Park over the Dunes or
along the Shoreline.
Ordnance Survey Map reference: NZ273977
Parking: Park at the National Trust Car Park "Druridge Bay".
Facilities: none
Warning: Check for tide details and any currents affecting the beach

Scarborough: Cayton Bay (North end) known as Johnny Flintons Harbour
Classification: Unofficial
Directions: Go south from Scarborough centre on A165 (Bridlington road)
about 2 miles to sign for Cayton Village on the right. Continue for
about 200m to Pay Car Park on the left. From the Car Park take the
steep path down the cliff to the beach. On the beach turn left (North
West) and walk to the far end of the beach, past the WW II 'Pill Box'
with the faded Naturist sign just visible.
Map: Ordnance Survey Map reference: TA064853
Parking: Use the Pay Car Park above the beach path.
Facilities: Facilities are available at the Car Park.
Warning: The steep path down the cliff restricts access to the able
bodied. The beach looses the sun by mid afternoon due to the cliffs to
the SW.
