SC-Oktoberfest Event Report & Upcoming

fantabulous. The weather was gorgeous, the sun shining from the
minute we arrived at Mindi & Bob's fantastic property. The pool was
crystal clear, although a bit chilly. If this event was of any
indication of their hospitality, I can hardly wait for warmer weather
and the scheduled pool party in 2008. It's perfect for water
volleyball.
There were several different red and white wines to sample including
those from the UK, California, South Carolina, and South Africa. The
beers and ale hailed from the UK, Germany, Netherlands, and Belgium
to name just a few of the countries. Snacks were ample and the
potluck diverse with 2 sausage dishes, one of which had sauerkraut.
We enjoyed premium ice cream and shortbread cookies for dessert.
Of note, the SC wine was produced by Mindi & Bob when they had their
winery. It was not sweet, but had a full fruity bouquet and was
enjoyed by all pallets. Our hosts graciously agreed to put a bottle
into next year's club auction.
Some of the photos will be put into the club's Yahoo page for members'
only viewing. These will be forwarded to the Bulletin as well.
Our next event is on October 20th, Founder's Day celebration. We'll
be meeting at Allen & my home @ 4:30 and then carpooling to the Grape
Vine restaurant not far from us on Rosewood at about 6. If you would
like to meet us at the restaurant that would be good as well or even
after the restaurant at our property for raspberry chocolate brownie
cake. There are no event fees for this event since it is my 60th
birthday celebration.
