Does anyone use iNaturalist and Nature's Notebook together? If so, I'd love to hear about your experiences.

We're considering using iNaturalist as a way to photographically complement Nature's Notebook observations. Specifically, we are considering ways to annotate photos in iNaturalist to match Nature's Notebook phenophases.

We do. I use iNaturalist more though to geotag the plants we are monitoring and to also keep track of the abundance of the specific plants at our site. We were actually doing a NASA Develop project this Spring where they were trying to match satellite images to Natures Notebook phenology data. They were looking at our Tamarisk observations and unfortunately because Nature's Notebook doesn't geotag the specific species you are monitoring the project didn't work quite as well as they planned. So in a case like this I think iNaturalist could be helpful to use alongside Nature's Notebook data.

They really are 2 very different tools but I think there are ways to make them work together.

I have been going into iNaturalist and trying to mark the phenophases for previous observations I'vee made. The phenophase options are still rather new for iNaturalist and I don't think most people even know there is an option to do so yet.  You can as you mentioned also include notes.
