* here's a full account in the Narwhal of Coho (and other) Salmon deaths
from a chemical used to make the rubber in tires stronger. A lot of the
mortality seems to come from releases of water from storm water ponds,
so this makes one wonder what other taxa may be affected by this
chemical, and how releases from storm water ponds are managed.
