That recent storm, Jun 30, wiped out my computer network and I am still trying to rebuild.  However while chasing the video cables through the wood lot I saw this length of wood and a few more shorter bits laying about.  They were fresh wood compared to the ground debris.  The were beside a tree about 5 inches diameter with a strip of sliced wood exactly this same shape from top to bottom.  The piece in the photo is about 4 meters and the smaller one about 1.  They were one piece before I brought them in.   The rest of the bits were scattered out from the tree, some quite far.  The tree is a cedar and about 15 meters in height, maybe more
I have never seen this kind of a hit before, so I thought I would mention it.
