I looked out the window at the snowy white landscape, I am cursing
this latest dump of snow after having been celebrating seeing most of
it melt. I spotted movement in the open mud areas on the beach, the
runoff has little streams running across that keep the snow melted in
2 foot wide streamers, and realized it was a small flock of robins.
They were alternating between picking through the mud and flying up to
a bittersweet vine climbing in the branches of a small birch tree,
somehow the berries have survived through the winter. The robins were
fluttering and picking off the fruit.
